UPDATED: SEP 6, 2005 Excellent beer. I’m not much of a stout drinker but this isn’t awful. Poured looking like a glass of melted tires and licorice. Orange tan head that quickly dies. Watery ring around the girth of my chalice. <sp> Smells exquisite. More bourbon than stout. More vanilla than roasted malt. Slight tinge of carbonated fire in the nose. <sp> Flavors are roasted and slick with a whiskey edge that truly ignites the palate. Firey with both flavor...and unfortunately carbonation. Very carbonated, and with a slight watery tinge that is off-putting. Maybe I’m just a stickler, but this could be stickier... G-rat

On tap at the pub. Pours clear dark brown with a thin off white head and good lacing. Bourbon, oak, vanilla, and roast in the nose. Same for the flavor with roasted nuts and chocolate with a slight hop bite for balance. Smooth medium body and roasty finish. Good beer.

Rich, dark, opaque black pour with brown edges has a thiin ring of tan head. Dark malty sweet and lightly roasted aroma has a nice bourbon oaky balance. Body starts full, malty and sweet with lots of sticky bourbon oak and a touch of hoppy bitterness. A smooth and flavorful beer with a semi-dry, roasty finish.

On draught. This is a stout with some bourbon soaked oak cubes (maybe chips but I think Josh used cubes) added. Nice! Big bourbon flavor and the alcohol is masked, but I think it is only about 5 or 6% anyway. The black patent malt and the sweetness are nice with the bourbon flavors. Great beer.
