grat (433), ST. Louis, Missouri, USA Mar 17, 2006 Excellent beer. Copperish with a purple haze around the edges. Frothy, loose carbonation. Nose is all honey and lavender. Carbonation is balaced on the nose, maybe slightly over the top but not beer altering. Exceedingly sweet. this could be balanced with a little more herbaciousness. Lavender and thyme especially. Not green enough in my opinion to be legendary but excellent nose regardless. Flavors are excellent as well if not exceedingly sweet as well. Some herbs again, lavender especially. Light malts begin and then are overhelmed with a caramel sweetness. Slight hop ede and mostly carbonation and earthy sweetness in the finish. All in all a pretty good example of the style for a small brewpub in Austin, TX.
scraff (1703), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Apr 17, 2006 Deep golden amber, creamy white head. Interesting nose of spiced orange peel, dried fruits, and hints of lime zest. Flavor basically was the same. Weird combination of flavors that just didn’t work well for me. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, dried fruit finish. Not terrible, just not a fan... SudsMcDuff (1034), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston,TX, Texas, USA Sep 13, 2005 This was one heck of a brew!!! Caramel fudge taste, sweet candy like smell, golden-copper color, Yellow full head that laces well, This brew is solid in flavour, A Winner! KAggie97 (2022), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Jun 1, 2005 Pours a nice dark amber that retains a nice head. The aroma is a weak berry scent. This is not a grand cru; it is a wierd coriander and orange mixed drink. HumuloneRed (746), Vancouver, Washington, USA Mar 9, 2005 Pours a medium to light copper color with a nice head a some lacing. Licorice and fruit in the nose. Full bodied with licorice, fruit and spice in the flavor. Very warming. Nice beer but too much licorice for my taste.
