3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BMan1113VR (7377) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 13, 2012
On tap at the source. Pours with a clear bronze hued body with a tan head. Aromas are fruity, caramel, dry, pine, citrus and a lightly earthy hop character. Medium yeast. Flavors are of tangerine, caramel and dark fruit. Not too heavy on the crystal, it actually finishes dry and a bit grainy. Nicely drinkable.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Caytinator (576) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - NOV 26, 2012
Pint at draught house. Copper-orange color, small head, stable, collared. Great adhesion. Aroma is chrysanthemums, floral. I don’t taste the citrus as much, more bitter, burnt, and herbal. Hoppy, of course. Medium-bodied. Good beer, especially for a "house" selection. Easy to drink

(Draught) Pours an amber body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel, raisins, and grass. Flavor of grass, caramel, cocoa, and herbs with a dry, bitter finish.

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2008 Pours medium amber colored with a slight brownish-red tint., slightlly cloudy, small, dense light tan head. Mild hoppy aroma, with a little bit of mineral. Superb lacing. Rich creamy mouthfeel, like a medium pale ale/ cream ale. Flavor is well balanced qualiy barley malt smoothness, combined with rich hops make for a truly outstanding, delicious beverage. Carbonation is on the lighter side but present enough to get a little bit of bite. This beer is perfect in more ways than 4. It’s so flavorul and smooth, yet not too heavy. There is a little bit of cocoa in the finish.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 oreogobbler (228) - Austin, Texas, USA - JAN 23, 2008
Aroma compares to heavily sugared down coffee with some light hops. Pours a dark mahogany brown with almost no head. Tasted is strong hops up front fallowed by a smoked coffee finish. Med body with well balanced flavor.
3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 slimchill (1044) - Austin, Texas, USA - JAN 16, 2008
Draught at brewpub. Vibrant red beer with just a touch of a white head. Nose is sweet with a bit of hop presence. Flavor is really wonderful, sweet notes of raspberry and strawberry held in check by some light bitterness. Could be a bit thicker, but still a fantastically drinkable beer.

Deep Red, maroon pour with little to no head. Smell was of nice fruity hops, and I believe I’m picking up the same fruity yeast smell as in their Wilson’s ESB perhaps. Taste was fruity, sweet and nicely hopped and bittered with a creaminess about it as well. Nice mild bitter lingering flavor. I really like this one.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 newshound (20) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 10, 2007
I got this beer hoping/looking for something like Draught House ’Double Red,’ which this certainly is not! An amber ale in name, but seemed to me more like a (pale?) ale. Thin golden-honey head at first, fairly thick pour. Low carbonation helps smooth out the bite. Swirls up a massive foamy head, strong aroma of hops. Not my favorite from Draught House, but certainly something to be proud of in general b/c Austin brewers rock.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 gswest (2) - USA - JAN 19, 2007 does not count
Ruby color and good head retension, but aroma included something I cannot now place, possibly phenolics if I remember right. Another person thought there might be some diacytel buttery notes. Overall not my favorite beer at the DH, but drinkable.
