Pint glass at DH- duh? Served an angry black color with a mild dose of hate, no head. Aroma of smoke, various softwoods, and hops- I’ll be damned. Hits the mouth with a wide body, malt was roasted to oblivion and loved every minute of it, middle has a firm punch of smoke, finish is malty and acidic. Old lady took a sip and said,"’bout time they made a f’n beer." I concur.

Black with a medium sized tan head and good lacing. Smokey, meaty and roasted malts in aroma and taste. A nice smoked beer.

On tap at Draught House. Dark pour with a light brown head. Aroma is beef and chocolate. Taste is beef, wood, molasses, and char.

On tap at Draught House. Pours a dark brown with a tan head and spotty lacing. The aroma is smoke and chocolate. Medium mouthfeel with a smoke and roast. A good smoked.

2/25/12. On tap at the brewery during RBWG 2012. Very dark pour with a nice brown head. Surprisingly plain aroma, touches of chocolate and coffee/roast, with a very little touch of smokiness. Nice chocolate flavor with a bit of roast. The smoke is definitely subtle.

Brown with a tan head. Smoky wood aromas. The flavor is very bitter and tastes primarily of dry smoked malt. This beer has a meaty smoked aftertaste that doesn’t quit. It’s an equal balance of malt, hops and smoke.

Draught from draught house. Poured dark with a smallish tan head. Aroma was very chocolate and malty, some coffee, not a ton of smokiness

Thanks to the pirate of anger for this one. The look is dark brown in color, not too much tan head. The smell is smoke, malts, coffee, chocolate, and roasty. The taste is really roasty, malts, smoky, chocolate.

Growler picked up from the brewpub Feb. 12 and drank Feb. 16.
Pours an inky black color with a small tan head. The aroma is coffee, roasted malt and smoke. The flavor is initially heavy smoke with some BBQ flavors as well as chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Very complex flavor beyond the initial wave of smoke. Medium mouthfeel and low carbonation.
