on tap at the brewery, november ’14. lightly hazed golden with a lingering fluffy head; aroma of dandelion tea, light passionfruit vine, generous, slightly tinny bitterness; fresh and vigorous; tasty stuff

Tap @ Brewpub. Pours clear dark golden with a white head. Melted lurpak, insane butter. Thin and really nasty!

On tap at the brewery. Now no one recommended this place and said the beer was full of diacetyl. The lager is fine not too exciting but some ok hop sting on the finish. In fact it’s fine. Aroma is ok and it’s a little empty in the mouth but then I am comparing it to other Franconia beer. Compared with virtually every other 4.2% lager in the world this is outstanding. Good enough. Malty slightly hoppy slightly empty

Draft. Served in a ceramic mug with a fluffy, slightly off white head. Pale grainy malty base, light earthy hops, and just a hint of sweetness. Not bad.

On tap in Memmelsdorf, 18/7/2012. Deep gold with a decent, off-white head. Sweet, caramel and red fruit aroma with a touch of leafy hop. Flavour was also sweet and malty, with a toffeeish edge and gently bitter finish. Very refreshing on a hot summer’s day.

Tap. Slightly hazy pale orange with a lacing white head. Malty, fruity nose. In the mouth it’s pretty sweet (but not cloying) with a ton of fruit, almost a rustic ale. Light body. Enjoy the touch of floral hops/spice in the background. Yum.

Rated at 3 Kronen Nov 2011. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is moderately malty (bread, cookie), lightly hoppy (flowers), with light notes of butter, honey, and pineapple. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, syrupy texture, lively carbonation. Shame about the diacetyl, because otherwise the aroma was fairly pleasant. Thankfully the butter wasn’t as strong in this beer as the bock and pils. Quite syrupy sweet with not much to balance.

draft at the source. clear gold. corn syrup and cracker barley nose. yeast is slightly dirty but mostly neutral, and there’s some slightly buttery diacetyl character with some fusel alcohol and toasted corn grains smell and flavor. forgettable.

courtesy of Philipp and Thomas - hazy reddish-amber colour with a chaotic pale beige foam; pretty malty nose with notes of caramel; sweet and crisp palate; low bitterness and a long malty and caramelish aftertaste
