Bügelverschlußflasche (purchased at the Brauerei): Copper to amber coloured, slowly diminishing off-white head, rural malty-caramelly nose with a tinge of toasted malt and a good dash of herbal hops in the backrow; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, soft MF, herbal hops show up in the malty, slightly barnyardy finish. A rural franconian brew, more a Landbier than a Dunkel........

Bottle 500ml. w. swing top.

Clear medium to dark amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, keller, light roasted. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, hay, keller, light dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120217]

Bottle @ Fastelavnssmagning 2012, Ulfborg. Pours cloudy amber with a bubbly off white head. Caramel, bread and fruit. Medium bodied.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear dark amber with an off-white head. Burned caramel and pumpernickel aroma. Medium body, caramel and sweet roast with a subtle bitterness. A well made Dunkel. 170212

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, caramel, and bread, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle. A clear, reddish golden beer with a small, off-white to light beige head. Light malty aroma with caramel, fruityness and some cooked vegetables. It’s rather thin on the palate, dry and quite pleasantly carbonated. Caramel, fruityness and a quite pleasant bitterness in the flavor. Some bitterness in the end. I like the bitterness in this one, but else it’s rather boring. 120217

Hazy reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty and caramel. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. 170212

Bottle. Unclear dark amber with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel and a little nutty. Flavour is malt, caramel, fruit, medium sweet, little nutty and a tiny bit toffee.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Medium head with medium duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are caramel, nuts, malt and hops.

Bottle@Home. Malts aroma with a hint of sulphur. Brown, beige head, fair lace. Sweet, very malty, hints of cola and chocolate. Flat and soft. Flavourful and balanced.

Bottle - opened the night before -- may have affected flavor. Pours a darkish brass -- rather pale for a dunkel, I’d say. Quite sweet malts dominate flavor.
