500 ml swing top bottle as Original Schaazer Kirchweihfestbier, from trade with bierkoning, thanks! Served into a stemmed glass. ABV 5.5% Pours a beer with a dark amber colour on the body, light activity in it. Small but thick off-white head, with quite good retention, leaving a thin layer of foam on the surface and tick lacing around the glass. Very strong and sweet caramel aroma, with malts and grass coming from the back. Taste begins sweet with lots of malts, caramel and butter, toffee flavour let’s say, and ends with a nice bitterness with a high point, falling to moderate levels quite fast. Medium thin body, good carbonation, a little bit low but it’s no crime. Overall pleasantly drinkable.

Dieses Bier wird seinem Namen nicht gerecht, es schmeckt langweilig. Malzig und süßlich, durchschnittlich süffig. Gähn. Test vom 22.8.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,8,8,7,6,7 - 7,45

The bottle looks good, but a bit complex. The beer in the glass is not too zippy, small head. Starts moldy-grasy, but turns then spicy with fine grasy-hoppy notes. Finish is well balanced, modest sourish. Not bad!

(swing top bottle) Slightly hazy, amber coloured hue with a mid-sized off-white foamy head. Sweet and nutty toast-malty aroma with a faint fruity note and a light touch of herbal hops. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, quite slim bodied with a moderate carbonation. Toast-malty, slightly nutty taste with caramel; the beer dries out a bit towards the finish, getting a bit bitter with light herbal hoppy accents; lasting caramelly and moderately bitter aftertaste. A bit slim but also pretty drinkable.

Bügelverschlußflasche (in der Brauerei gekauft):Deep golden to light amber coloured, a bit unclear, slowly diminishing lacy white head, a mix of barnyardy and caramelly aromas in the nose, completed by adash of hops; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, soft MF; delicate caramelly-bitter finish. A good franconian brew....
