Hazy amber colour with some floaties, lovely creamy and persistent head. Fruity nose with hints of caramel. Solid malty base with lots of caramel, vanilla, honey and herbs like thyme and rosemary. Interesting combination of malty sweetness with the caramel and the herbal accents. A rather complex and very nice brew. Finishes with lots of caramel and chocolate. KyotoLefty (1512), Kyoto, Japan

Amber malt aroma, earthy, farmland, yeast. Nutty as well, with a touch of chocolate. Also fruits-apple, maybe pear?
Good malt flavor, earthy, grassy biere de garde flavor. Some fruit and a touch of citrus as well. Good hop finish. This might have slightly better hops, though. Very dry and also refreshing. The alcohol is also noticeable, with a warming sense in the mouth. Great balance and good body as well, heavily carbonated. peter48er (161), Liverpool, Merseyside, England

Not what I would call a Belgian strong ale but nonthe less enjoyable for all that. Pours a golden/amber colour with a full lively head. Malt dominates with some hop flavour. Am enjoying this one which I bought in Brittany and am drinking in the UK. One of the better French beers. MiP (9162), Sønderborg, Denmark
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 29, 2008 Bottle, 7% as Dremwell Ambrée. Spicy hop aroma. Clear amber colour. Small head. Good and flavourful and I like the hop, but it could have been done with a little less alcohol. yespr (12443), Copenhagen O, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 12, 2008 33 cL bottle, thanks to MiP. Pours clear and golden orange with a lacing white head. Aroma is lemonish and light malty. Flavour holds a nice fresh lemon note and an almost spiced yeasty note, yet this comes from the apparently added chinook hops. Ends with a light fruity lingering finish and a light spice note. reakt (939), Greater London, England
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 30, 2007 Bottle from Kris Wines. Opaque pale amber with a white head. Malt and yeast in the nose, some sweetness. Taste is much the same although bready and reminded me of chestnut, for some reason, with a bit of alcohol and hoppyness. Quite Belgian IMO but just didn’t do it for me. MesandSim (5979), London, Greater London, England

33cl bottle from Kris Wines. Hazy dark blonde, thin but very grippy white head. Heavy sediment settles at the bottom of the glass. Sweet burnt caramel aroma with a lick of alcohol and some fruit and hops underneath. Just a little mellow for me. Flavour similar to the aroma with some pleasant yeasty and faint woody notes, and a slightly soapy but nicely hopped finish. Was expeciting this to be poor so was reasonably pleased it was very drinkable. Dorqui (1365), Brescia, Italy

Aged and pleasant scent of malt, wine cellar and stum. A lot perfumed and full of flavor with good alcoholic but balanced content.
Sweet and resistant final with light notes of liqueur.
