COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A perfect marriage of Northwest and German hops balanced with cotton candy malt notes and a hint of fruit courtesy of our own special yeast.

On tap. Pours a clear amber/copper with light head. Light orange/citrus hops aroma. Similar taste. Nice. Not overly hoppy.

On tap. Pours a pale orange. Aromas of lemon, pine, orange peel. Relatively bitter body. I found the after taste to be oddly salty which didn’t completely ruin it, just made it, well, odd.

Golden with a small pale head and noticeable carbonation. Aroma is North West hops - pine and orangey citrus. Taste is spruce, grapefruit. Bitter on the palate and the bitterness tends to linger a little on the finish. Typical over-hopped Northwest Ale, not particularly impressed. When paired with some food on the sweet side, like an onion soup, the bitterness calms down a little allowing the floral and citrus aspects of the hops to come through.

Lagerboy (1185) - British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 21, 2012
Clear yellow orange, nice rocky white head. Piney citrus hop aroma. Big initial fizzy, citrus hop bite with the faintest of bready malt backgrounds. Tastes more like an average hopped IPA. Clean bitter end. LF (Lagerboy Friendly)

Copper in colour with white head, not much retention, but decent lacing. Lively spicy aroma. The flavour with much like an APA or IPA, so I was surprised this was categorized as a Golden Ale. Much more flavourful than your typical golden ale/blond ale. Nice beer.

gramity (1307) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 9, 2011
Rich, sweet malts blend nicely with spicy, grassy, pine-like citrus hops in the nose. Clear, deep golden coloured body is topped by an enthusiastic white head that recedes slowly and laces well. Light cereal malt character with spicy hop flavours and medium bitterness. Somewhat sweet and floral in the finish. Medium light body with crisp carbonation. Somewhat slick in texture.

UPDATED: APR 10, 2011 [3656-20110323] Bottle. Fragrant lychee cardboard aroma has a lemony raspberry hint. Hazy, bright orange body with a quick foamy white head. Fruity raspberry-like tartness continues in the flavour with a muted citrus hint without the acidity. Medium body is fairly bubbly. Interesting, odd at first though. (6+/3/7/3/13+) 3.2

650ml bottle from BC Liquor. Pours a very clear light golden with ample, pillowy, lasting off white head. Aroma is slightly sweet, grassy and bitter. Taste is better than expected. A lovely biscuity malt marries well with clean and crisp hops, some sweetness there as well. Excellent mouthfeel. Lingering and welcome finish. Very solid.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, as Driftwood Eponymous Ale
Deep blond color; creamy head. Nice aroma of fruity hops and white refined sugar, a bit earthy too. Dry mouthfeel, some malt, grassy, but also with traces of vegetables, leading to some final astringency; strong bitterness, also a bit minty; not a bad recipe, but probably not the best batch.
