COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We married our spicy Belgian yeast with a pile of malt and 900 pounds of sour cherries! Pairs well with dessert or as an aperitif. This beer could be laid down, but don’t deny yourself the pleasure of enjoying the intense fruit and spice flavors fresh!

Poured from a bomber (2014 edition). Thick red and a nice dense foam head. Smells of cherries, shocking I know. First sip is a blast of spicy cherry followed by a very sour and tart after taste (much more than last years edition). This is a phenominal beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours like an inky almost blood red beer with a thin lil head, somewhat pinkish, which doesn’t hang around long at all. You can smell the brettanomyces funk party right away. Sour... sour explosion. the palette needs to adjust... no hop character notes to speak of, sour, tart, pucker lips here. A nice amount of wood character shows through. Cherry is quite noticeable after 2 years in the barrel? More and more you get into it the better and more enjoyable it becomes. Overall I really like it. Not for the faint of heart.

2013 bottle. Pours ruby red with loose airy pink cap. Sour cherry aroma. Taste is tart cherry. Medium carbonation. I had it on tap at Railway Club, and carbonation was intense, and not enjoyable.

thx to seen doav for the brew. had this since xmas - heard it wasnt that great so i let it rot for a while. Now since i have almost no beer left to my name its time to open it. Listening to the new Live Dayglo Abortions for the first time - all kwallitea. Clear amber with a slight pink hue and a small bright white bubbly head. Smells decent enough - sour cherry, phenols, fake orange, grains, apple juice. It’s mostly the mellowness of the cherries but not a dominant, strong cherry dose. The flavour even after letting it sit on teh counter in my glass for over an hour has not changed much aside form the dulling of the alcohol which was a downer on the initial sips. Tartness everywhere - the best quality present. Malty, slightly sour, tart blob. Cherry, watery vinegar, twigs. Low carbonation, mildly sour and tart finish. Dry mouth like I just did an hour of blades.

Thanks to Derek for this. Pours a clear, pinkish red with small carbonation and a white rim. Aroma is cherry and yeast. Taste is dry like a white wine, sweet cherries, grain and yeast. Simple, yet elegant.

UPDATED: APR 3, 2012 From the 3/2012 3R6P tasting. +++Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark orange-amber color with no head and no lacing. The aroma was bread, yeast and faint cherries. The flavor was sweet tart cherry, cherry pits and cherry pie filling. The finish was long cherry pie filling and yeast. Moderately full bodied. The alcohol was well hidden. Nice.

pours reddish-copper, minimal quickly dissipating head, medium CO2 size, barely any retention, zero lacing, average speed CO2 streams. Very fragrant Morello cherry nose, almost cotton candy like. Deep 2/10-sour 5/10-tart cherry start, puckering mouthfeel at 14C, slight bitterness near the mids, zero traces of alcohol. Low-medium complexity, medium-depth, great balance, good carry, excellent drinkability. This beer goes especially well with salty foods. Quite refreshing when drunk at 3-5C. Creeper alcholic effect.

The search was for tartness, being cherries and all. What I liked was it wasn’t too sweet. Bottom line: Rather neutral, not bitter or sourness or too sweet, but also somewhat dull. I liked the yeasty Belgians, and secondary cherry flavour, so drank the bottle. I do not mean to rain on the parade of great BA reviews before me. Thanks Derek for the bottles.

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2013 Sour fruit really comes through on the nose, mild alcohol. The taste is very similar to the smell - sour cherries, yeasty, little bit of bitterness. Sour cherry flavour lingers and then the alcohol warmth comes out. A good beer for the style. The 2013 version is a little more tart and funky. Definitely better than before.

Nose of nice tart fresh cherries on top of light bread, dust, and lightly phenolic belgian yeast. Pours pinkish red with a fizzy white head that settles to nothing. Nice color though. Flavors of fresh tart cherries, light spicy/sweet belgian yeast, a hint of hay, dust, and bread. Nice lingering cherry flavor never becomes medicinal or gross. Light alcohol starts to come through as it warms. Good stuff.
