Bomber from riversideAK. Pours hazy golden burnt orange with white head. Aromas of grapefruit, piney hops, and some malt, but what sticks out is the fresh hops. Flavors of pine, mango, and grapefruit with some caramel malts bringing some balance. There is a fair amount of bitterness but it all in the finish and aftertaste. Nice IPA overall, especially for a billed product that say on my fridge for two weeks.

Bottle.I’m very lucky to have had this one fairly fresh. Pours orange, lots of initial head. Aromas are frreakin awesome. Tons of pine, grapefruit and citrus. Taste is right on par with what it should be. Plenty of aggressive hops and then even more. Perfect malt balance makes this one of the best executed Ipa’s I have had. Driftwood does not disappoint.

My 800th brew! The pour is a light brownish orange with a light yellowish white head full of tiny, tiny bubbles. A thick ring of lacing is left on the glass after my first gulp. The nose is sweet and fruity with a resinous hopped up aroma and a light caramel malt. A bunch of grapefruit and piney notes atop a bit of a sweet apricot and tropical fruit. In the middle I get a sweet, slightly pined note with a bit of a brown sugar and toffee malt. The finish has a resinous smack and slick, sticky mouthfeel. A bit of alcohol in the aftertaste with a mild grapefruit tang and lingering hop bitterness much after swallowing. This tastes a bit calmer than 80 IBU’s. Overall, a great 800th brew!

Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Nice hops aroma and good malt backing. A very tasty IPA. The winner of the 2011 NWBN IPA award held up quite nicely.

Pint glass/bottle; Citrus aroma characteristic of IPAs - strong grapefruit and a hint of mango; appearance is a bit mirky/cloudy with a creamy head; a big hoppy taste without being too overpowering, strong citrus notes; quite drinkable for such a strong IPA.

On tap - slightly foggy amber/gold with some creamy head. Aroma is grapefruit & resinous hops. Taste is lots of citrus, aggressive bitterness from start to finish. Big punch to this one, but drinkable. Alcohol hidden.

Draft. Amber with a thick head. Bright. Orangey-mango hop aroma is appetizing. Bright, fresh and lively. Well-balanced, with lots of pithy bitterness. Really dry, fruity, richly hopped but very drinkable as well. An excellent IPA.

Golden and hazy orange with a creamy fluffy head. Big hits of pine in the aroma. Lots of citrus. It’s a really solid IPA.

Draft @ Malones, Whip....Coppery gold, scattered lace. Aroma of big pine, spruce total nw. Soft palate. Manly masculine brew. Lots of hop oils. Toasty malts. Well constructed very PacNW IPA. A bit too heavy for me and would never be able to session this. Also leaves a lot on the tongue--malt sugars and hop oils. Does not appeal to my affection for dryness. At the same time, it’s really full-bodied. Nothing necessarily unique or outstanding about it, it’s just well made.

Best Canadian IPA, taking over for the central city IPA. Aroma is very rich with citrus/melon and lots of resin and pine. Flavour is layered with citrus notes, caramel, rich malt, pine and resin. Finishes feeling balanced but with a great lingering bitterness. Clean, delicious and too easy to drink all night.
