Bottle from LetsPour.com, poured into a 330ml tulip. Slightly hazy medium gold pour with a finger of pillowy white head. Pungent hop aroma. Very tropical. Pineapple, orange, grapefruit, and a touch of pine and mint. Very bitter. Sweet citrusy hops complement a base of pilsner malt, finishing very dry and resinous. Body is on the light side of medium, surprisingly drinkable. Quite flavorful but just a touch too bitter and dry for my tastes. I would call this Canada’s answer to Ruination.

Pours clear deep gold with two fingers of rocky white head diminishing gradually to a thick cap, chunky lacing. (4/5) Nose is dank pine resin, bright citrus, tropical fruit, pale malt. (9/10) Taste is mild sweet, moderately strong bitter. (9/10) Medium body, moderate carbonation, lingering bitter finish. (4/5) Went into this with high hopes... and was not disappointed. Lovely and bright - so nice to be able to get an IPA that’s under a month old! - and with the right balance of complexity and clean flavour. A very solid performer, and one I’d love to try on tap or in a fresher bottle. (17/20)

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer & Beyond. Thanks Ory. Slightly hazy copper with medium off-white head. Hoppy aroma, a bit cheesy, some maltiness, piney. Mild hoppy bitterness in the flavor, notes of apple and vinegar, citrusy with light maltiness, semi-dry. Moderate carbonation, medium-bodied.

On tap @ Brickhouse. Pours medium yellow golden with thin white head. Aroma is light caramel malt; piney, earthy, fresh hops. Taste is medium caramel malt; clean, rich malty body; piney bitter hops with definite fresh notes on the finish. Quite good for a BC IPA.

Pint at the Morrissey pub in Vancouver. Aroma was strong bitter hops. Flavor was quite bitter as well. This was a serious beer. I’d like to give it another go.

ENG: 650ml bottle brought from Vancouver by a friend, poured into the tulip. Bottled 16 Feb 2015. Bright, opalescent orange color, thick, but dissipating, tan head. A bit of lacing. Aromas are very well exposed, tropical fruits, especially mango and pineapple, a bit grapefruit, lemon and piney. Very nice! Taste is mostly citrus (grapefruit), but also strongly tropical, and balanced with tartiness of pine and grapefruit-like bitter (not annoying tart though) in aftertaste. After some time, while beer is warming up, taste is getting slightly more piney. Medium to high carbonation and medium body. Overall it’s a very drinkable and refreshing West Coast IPA with a lot of hoppy tropicalness in it, mixed with nice grapefruit/piney bitter. Very good beer.

PL: Butelka 650ml przywieziona przez znajomego z Vancouver, przelana do kieliszka. Zabutelkowane 16 lutego 2015. Barwa jaskrawo-pomarańczowa, opalizująca, gęsta jednak zanikająca, jasna piana. Nieco lejsingu. Średnie do wysokiego nasycenie, średnie odczucie w ustach. Podsumowując bardzo pijalne, orzeźwiające West Coast IPA z mnóstwem chmielu, tropikalnych owoców, uzupełnionych przyjemną grejfrutowo / żywiczną goryczką. Bardzo dobre piwo.

Hazy yellow body with a thin white cap. Aromas of citrus, hops, melon. Tropical notes, hop forward. This isn’t a fresh bottle, but still holds up well. I’d love to try an uber fresh bottle. Very tasty.
