What a quality west coast style IPA. From Canada, I wouldn’t necessarily expect such a pine and grapefruit hop presence, but there it is. The aroma is a strong point, with grass, flowers, pine and citrus all present. The aroma is pure hops, a touch of water and light malt. The body has a better malt presence but doesn’t sacrifice the clean water finish. Fresh bomber went down so easily. The only knock is the alcohol at 7% is a little high for a beer that I’d love to session, and that it sticks a bit on the tongue with a tannic finish at the back. Otherwise, this is a beautiful beer, even including the appearance which is amber and has some decent (but not a ton of) lace. Thanks, Mom, for bringing this back!

Unreal. Full body with great citrus aroma. Nice bitterness but not too overwhelming. Could live on this beer

From 650 ml bottle during a camping trip. Pours a hazy yellow with a thick white head. Nose is tropical fruits. Mango, passion fruit and grapefruit. Taste is lots of tropical fruits with a long lasting medium bitterness and a balancing malty backbone. A bit soapy. Perfectly balanced with some malty sweetness. One of the best Canadian IPAs.

Great tasting beer... This surely is the best IPA in the world. One of my favourite. Very hoppy - the bitter is just right. Great aroma!

22oz bottle from mcberko pours a hazy orange with some creamy, lacing white head. Nose has heavy pine, soap and orange, fair amount of malt sweetness too, honey comb, grapefruit too. Very classic nose. Flavor is quite well balanced for the claim of 80IBUs, honey sweetness, some malt, a bit of candy, orange, grapefruit, pine, a little herbal, some soap too. Malty, bitter, sticky finish.

Oh boy, this fatty really capped of my night after sipping on weak and watery Italian beers. Poured an unfiltered amber with small head. Aroma was of pine, mango, floral hops, and caramel. Tasted of grapefruit, pine, toffee, and sweet malts. So well balanced with hops in the middle and malts near the end. Medium body with the bitterness in the middle. I would let this tug drag me anywhere, whatever that means.

Hard not to give full marks to IPA bastard. After a night of drinking Euro-froofiness this North American flavour bomb tugged everything out to sea. Hazy yellow copper with an off white head, a floral and pine hop-barrage rode a wave of caramel and honey sweetness. Hoppy is the name of Fat Tugs game, getting its job accomplished with bitter alacrity. A pine pounding balanced brilliantly by sweet malt gives you a brew with a smooth, mid-low carbonation, light oiliness and a dry and bitter grapefruit finish.

1/IX/14 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle @ home - bottled: V/22/14 (2014-966) Thanks to McBerko for the trade!

Clear amber beer, creamy irregular yellowish head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: bit sugary, sweet, caramel, floral, little fruity. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: malty start, pretty bitter, grassy, grapefruit, lemon rind, citrus. Aftertaste: lots of citrus, bitter, bit medicinal, honey, malty touch.

Reminiscent of west coast IPAs with a good amount of citrus coming through. Very drinkable with a nice balance of bitterness/sweetness. A semidry finish.

The name would have me assume a heavier more bitter beer. Truth is, it's lightly hopped, the 80 IBU seems a little over stated on my taste buds. All in all great beer.

On tap at Bengal Lounge, Fairmont Empress, Victoria BC. An impressive beer! Pours a beautiful darkish orange, resin, pine, and a lot of citrus/grapefruit on the nose; upfront but in no way clumsy or overpowering. Quite elegant, in fact. More grapefruit on the palate with a full, tasty, yet zesty mouthfeel. Finishes strongly with a good follow-through. Great example of North American craft IPA.
