Almost bought it in BC but passed and lo and behold it’s now on sale on rakuten via sake no taniguchi. A perfect looking orange-gold with a thick head of soapy foam and a crazy thick fruity hop bouquet with a bitter piney edge. Fairly full bodied with a sandy carbonation and semi-dry finish. The taste is bitter fruity mango and passionfruit but also has some somewhat minty pine notes. A really solid IPA from the west coast and I like the woodsy tropical fruit finish like fruit rinds and stems. Really solid stuff.

Pours a clear copper-orange with white head. A strong floral and citrus hop and fruit malt aroma. A sweet fruit malt, caramel, pine and hop taste. A malt based and light bitter hooe aftertaste.

Bottle shared with Mat and Jf A: grapefruit, citrusy, piny, a touch of caramel App: hazy pale smallish white head t/p: med body with moderate long bitter finish. Soft to moderate carbonation. O: I couldn’t find any date on the bottle, I suspect this to be a bit old. A decent base hops, simply not enough aromatic.

Pours a nice pale gold with a large, white head. Aroma is grapefruit and citrus dominant, with some hop smell. The citrus and grapefruit continue to dominate the taste and the hops leave just the right amount of bitterness. Nice creamy finish, and goes down easy. A lot of character in this IPA, definitely one of the better ones I’ve had.

Beer 02/25 from Double Blind IPA tasting. Caramel colour, and whoa hop potency all around. Bitter overload with pine. Some sweetness hiding in there. Placed 8th

Light copper body with a decent froth head. Enjoyable Chinook bitterness asserts itself in the nose, accompanied by some foresty, citrusy, and sprucey notes. Sweet and foresty bitterness envelopes the palate. A residual ebbing of ESB sugar. Overall, this one was solid, but just a bit too sweet.

A very solid IPA. Pours dark golden with a thick white head. Nicely balanced, fairly sweet but with an assertive tropical fruit hop character. Picked up in Ames, Iowa in 2016.

Pours a slightly cloudy pale gold color. This has above average lacing, but not too much head retention. Smells like mango and has a peppery finish to it. It’s a solid beer, but there is a unique characteristic here I can’t pinpoint.

Drank w Matt after dinner at Hutong with his uncle. Light amber-brown, off-white fizzy head that starts out foamy but dissipates a bit. Smells of sweet fermented apple juice, pear, grainy moderately spiced malt. Taste is moderate to heavy resin bitterness, moderate spiced light peppery malt, some apple juice. Body is oily and slick, bitter, smooth malty finish. Decent amount of resin hop accompanied by lots more malt and spice and apple juice than you’d expect from something that calls itself a West Coast style IPA – also suspect the bottle wasn’t the freshest and that may have contributed to the slightly sweet heaviness. Good but would like to try a fresher bottle.
