mcberko (5358) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 8, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 9, 2013 650mL bottle, pours a dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is full of bourbon barrels, vanilla, oak, loads of booze, and caramel malts. Flavour is incredibly boozy, with loads of vanilla, bourbon, oak and booze, secondary notes of dark fruits, caramel malts and more booze. Did I mention this was boozy? Certainly complex and somewhat elegant, but the booze detracts big time from this. Ridiculously boozy - did I mention this? Feels like it’s close to 20%. Decent stuff, though very difficult to drink to its booziness. Maybe sitting on this for a year or more will conceal some of the rough edges.
