UPDATED: FEB 5, 2013 650ml bottle. Ruddy mahogany with thin beige head. Aroma galore: smokey oak, bourbon, vanilla, dark berry, caramel, baked bread, hazelnut. Malt-forward with a very rich sweetness that carries nicely over the high alcohol. Gently hop-tempered at the end, giving it a nice finish. Warming, delicious and deeply inebriating. The best way to kill some brain cells on a cold winter night.

Ruby brown with a light brown head. Aroma is raisins, honey, golden syrup, dates, hint of anise. Creamy mouthfeel, full bodied, sweet and boozy on the palate. Flavours are brown sugar, raisins, honey, hint of pine, toffee, burnt orange. Nicer than Cellar Dweller.

Bottle thanks to Matt! Pours a near clear deep orangish amber with a brown hue and a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of vanilla and bourbon with a backing earthiness and sweet grains. Flavor is full of caramel with some toffee that kind of over power the bourbon at first but it does come through in the finish.

Before I drink all of the stash, I should record some notes. 2012 bomber that's been sittin in my cellar for a while now I guess. Pure hazy ruby, no retaining cap. Aroma of raisin, licorice, wood. Taste is quite sweet. Boozy, sticky.

Bottle shared at Dadsgiving, thanks to whomever brought this number along, 24/11/13. Hazed chestnut brown with a moderate tan covering. Nose is dark toffee, sugars, woody bourbon, sweet fudge, light booze. Taste comprises candied sugars, toffee fudge, subtle bourbon, oaky, druity tang. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet booze laced closure. Nice BA barley wine.

Bottle at Dadsgiving! Pours a clear ruby tinged amber with a thin to medium sized beige head. Sweet oxidization on the nose, malt and sweet caramel. Warm and boozy, but still rather smooth. Sweet caramel, spicy malt. Chewy malt into the finish. Lingering oxidization and chewy spice. Tasty but boozy.

Bottle:   Deep reddish caramel, thin to moderate frothy tannish head, spotty lacing.   Rich sweet biscuity and caramel nose, slight dark pitted fruit.   Rich and biscuity, bourbon notes, vanilla, graham cracker linger.   Some heat, could stand to sit for a bit.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Rich, heavy biscuity malts, caramel, bourbon, graham cracker, and dark pitted fruit.   Also a bit bready.   Good, still a little young, but worth it.   Very enjoyable.
