4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 CapFlu (4024) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 3, 2010
(650ml bottle) Purchased a whole 12-bottle case from Douglas Liquor back on the release date. I’ve shared so many bottles and am now, sadly, I’m down to my final bottle and perhaps ready to provide a review. It should be easy as I loved this beer throughout its life-cycle. The potent hop aroma has begun to malt-over but its still one of the most fragrant Centennial hops nose in the province. Strong alcoholic body with a solid resiny malt base and overtones of high hoppiness and green leaves. This beer is so good all around and should become an annual release with any luck. Thanks for the memories. 12 bottles down.

Amber, small lasting beige head. Salty spicy piney hop nose.Softly carbonated, light malt start, fruity overtones. Piney medium hop profile.
Medium strength and length hop finish. Easy drinking.
Decent enough , but has a barely detectable off taste I can’t identify

Bomber thanks to H1N1 shared with Marc and Thierry.
Appearance : Clear pale yellow.
Aroma : Fresh and wet hops. Herbal and a bit floral. Nice fruity mangos.
Taste : Leafy and fruity. Finish is quite sticky and oily. Light astringency.
Overall : Interesting stuff. Nice fruits and fresh hops. Not too sure about the sticky finish. Not too sure about the "wet" hops profile. Great stuff still.

Ahhhhhh.. this is how an IPA should taste! Excellent right out of the gates. My happy nose is treated with smelly things. Pine, oranges, grapefruit - cannot decide between rrgf or unsweetneed... there is a sweet funky floral note that swirls around with ease, apricots and peaches. The orange is quite sweet - not candy sweet tho - very similar to these stellar organic oranges that you can only buy at Save on Foods - they are to die for - everything that your old ass taste buds crave to turn back time to when fruit actually tasted good - any local reading this - trust me and go get these freaking oranges as they are truly the greatest tasting oranges of our lifetimes. Great sharp citrus flavour, freaking hard bitterness but not so much where these wonderful fruity flavours can’t shine. Solid malt support group... but one of those groups one would only hear as background thoughts when required, pine stuff, great spice - I wish I knew how to describe it but I can say that it is unlike anything I can recall in an IPA and this beer for whatever reason went straight to me brain. It’s got decent depth, a thick and full middle and a rounded after taste of things I already typed, finishes as strong as it begins which is very cool... odd juts got a hint of a strongly flavoured well done craft lager on a couple of finishes... I blame the alcohol. Carbonation is a touch touch in respect to the bitterness but who cares. Stellar brew that I enjoyed from the second the cap was pried off - if only this quality was achieved locally.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 cfrancis (1808) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 25, 2012
Thanks to Derek for this. This is the best harvest IPA I’ve ever had. Pours a hazy amber gold with a small white ring. Aroma is pine hops and citrus with a slight spice. Taste has a bold pine hop bitterness with citrus and some great malt sweetness that balances this so well. Great beer.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 manuchampions (1217) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 9, 2009
22oz bomber from 16th Street LS in West Van. Expiry date listed as March 30,2010. Strong hop punch upon opening. Pours a copper colour with thick and foamy head which clings to the glass. The aroma is very welcoming with fresh hop pungency. The taste is equally satisfying with sharp, honeyed hops that really do seem exceptionally fresh. The malt backing is superbly well crafted and gives just the right counter balance. More Centennial hop potency lingers on the finish. Grab some while you can. What a treat!
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 mgermani (972) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 15, 2009
Pours a clear copper with a thin head but fantastic lacing. Incredible oily hop aroma - sweet and just... good lord. Great malt backbone plunges right into fantastic hop goodness, greatness even. Godliness? Very herbal and perfectly blended with the malt, sweet freshly-mown grass. As I finish the bottle quickly I am drawn into a vision where I have just cut my Grandparents’ massive lawn, and am sitting drinking the perfect beer next to the lawnmower. Light buttery character. Creamy and well-carbonated, no complaints about the body. This may just be the best beer brewed in this province, and it makes all of my happy light up.
