Bottle, 05/19/2013. Pours amber orange, medium white head dies to the surface, sudsy lacing around the glass, sparkling carbonation rising from the bottom. Aroma lightly fruity with peach, pear and apple, honey notes with yeast, plain Belgian malts, touch of vanilla. Taste is spicy, light fruitiness, yeast, pale Belgian malts with candi sugar, not overboard, mild bitter finish. Medium palate, high carbonation. Ok, but a bit uninspired.

Pours a medium dark golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is a bready Belgian yeast and ripe fruit. Taste of Belgian yeast, alcohol, malt, and sweet peaches, with a bit of spice. Long yeasty finish. A bit sweet for me, but otherwise a very nice west coast golden ale.

Bottle. Golden amber with good foam and lace. Aroma is mostly alcohol like a malt liquor, has an edge of Belgian yeast. Flavour is very strong alcohol and grain. Might be dangerous. Don’t let the kids drink it. Not a fan; I want to trade the empty for a Fat Tug.

Hazy golden color. The malt aroma is sweetish, lightly fruity, with a touch of oak vanilla. Sweet flavor, a bit fruity; similar to many North American attempts at Belgian Ales, with strong bitterness and some oak.
Not bad, but not very interesting either.

22 fl oz bottle, thanks to fiulijn. Pours cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, mild hoppy. Sweet, peachy and light mango, crisp and bitter. Smooth and mango to peachy fruity into the finish.

Single bottle purchased from a BC Liquor Store in Invermere, BC on 08/11/2012. Colour: Dark orange with just the faintest whips of brown. Medium slightly off-white creamy head. Nose: Chocolate cake mix, icing dipped malt. Strong and completely dominant with dessert-like scents...which isn’t necessarily a bad thing as long as it doesn’t carry-over to the mouth. Taste: Medium-high sweet, Medium-light bitter, medium sour. Big sweet malt (told ya) tempers the 10% ABV., Lots of dried sweet fruit....brings essences of Christmas pudding. Long cocoa powder. Woody and dry late and lingering. Just couldn’t get comfortable with this past the aroma - sweetness overwhelmed.

My friends were surpised that this was golden, considering the label. The huge disparity in ratings so far may reflect people’s opinions on whether the strong taste of alcohol belongs in this style. I personally enjoyed it, and it mixed with the phenols/esters to make a certain kind of statement in my upper digestive system.
