3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
In short: A sugary-sweet and resinous-citrusy IPA. Decent beer but I expected better from Driftwood
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed approximately 3 months after the beer release. Bottle sent to me by mcberko, thanks a lot Matt
The look: Clear dark golden body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose is generous in aromatic hops with a flowery and citrusy character. The aroma also shows a light sweetness. Taste is sweeter than expected, the body is crisp and clean with a bit of caramel and honey but also a strong white sugar sensation. The hops bitterness is nose-to-nose with the malt sweetness. The bitterness is quite resinous with only mild fruity/citrusy notes. After taste is hops resin and refined white sugar. I am a hop-head but one bomber was enough for me, the sweetness was starting to bother me after a single bomber. Not a bad beer at all but I was expecting better from the a Driftwood Double IPA, this is a far cry from their excellent regular IPA (Fat Tug) or their hoppy ESB (Hildegard’s). I’m sitting here entering my beer ratings at work, haven’t had a beer since yesterday night, I can’t wait for this damn sobriety to go away.

Thanks to Derek for this. Pours a dark golden yellow with a big frothy white top. Aroma is intense grapefruit and floral hops with a little bready. Taste is a nice blast of grapefruit hops that is dry bitterness. Resiny, stickly sweet, really enjoyed.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a transparent dark orange, large white head. Aroma is standard strong IPA - super hoppy, some banana. Palate: medium bodied, slightly dry bite all the way through, stronger at the end. Taste: strong alcohol taste. slightly bitter. Not bad, but not anywhere near what i was expecting.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Derek. Golden coloured body with generous retained head. Malty hoppy aroma. Smooth moutheel. A very drinkable beer, although cascadian hop alone makes it a good but not a great cradfted or super interesting beer.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy orangey copper with a small white head. Aroma of piney and citrus hops and a bit of caramel. Flavour is robustly hpppy, with loads of resinous hops, with hardly any malt backing to balance - very bitter finish. Unbalanced, but done so well I can hardly fault it. Hophead’s paradise.

Thanks to Sean (ZTO) for generously giving this to me - cheers bro.
Pours out a wonderfully attractive bright orange amber beer that somehow looks silky. Big light tan head, bubbly and sticky - takes a couple of minutes to fade to a skim. Big peach/nectarine/orange aroma, on the sweet side. Leafy, bit of caramel but that is thirdondary, some pine and a light, if any rrgf. Great bitter fruity taste that never ends. Peach and apricots, pine and some nasty bitterness, caramel, tastiness, some richness. Goodness, nothing too crazy but just tasty. Not overly complex but worthy. Heavy bitterness, spice, hop burn, smooth carbonation. I dig but there’s no raw dog love.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Copper-tan with small head. Low carbonation. Average amount of lace. Aroma and taste of thick sweet malt and abundant bitter citrusy hops. Hits all the right notes for style although it feels one-dimensional in some ways.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Clear, light copper, big tan head. Ultra-fresh aroma of green pine needles, resin, citrus. Smooth flavor profile with orange jam, pine, some toffee candy in the background. Medium carbonation, light to medium body, long bitter finish. Another Canadian brewery that is getting closer to the better American breweries. Good job!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle... Poured amber, rusty orange with a thick head. Big hop bomb here. Loads of bitterness with grassy, citrus and piney hops. Quite resinous and a lingering bitterness towards the finish. Light fruits and mild malts, but nothing to balance this hophead’s delight.
