Bottled (from landbierparadies.com). Rubyish copper colour with a mediumsized beige foamy/fluffy head , that leaves some lace. Aroma is quite bready, parfumes soap, some mild sweet malts as well as mild herbal notes. Flavour is raisins, some mild ryebread and some slight floral and herbal notes along with some grassy bitterness. Mild soapy notes as well.

Dunkler Karamellgeruch, süßlich. Vollmundig malzig-kaffeeartiger Antrunk, hier bereits trocken. Dann flacht das Aroma ab, das Malz wird ebenfalls trocken, die Kaffeenote dagegen bitterer. Deutlich weniger vollmundig als zuvor. Mehr Konstanz wäre schön! 13/9/10/8//9

Maria (10136) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAY 15, 2011
From tap at the brewpub. It’s beautiful, dark red amber and the head is creamy. The aroma has light notes of burnt sugar and a little green bell-pepper. The flavour has notes of roasted malt, light coffee, dark syrup, a little green bell-pepper, and the finish is slightly dry with a hint of coffee.

(bottle) pours a clear amber-ruby colour with a frothy off-white head. very interesting aroma of cherries and oak, with a hint of balsamic vinegar and honey-tinged pale malts, almost like an oud bruin. flavour is the same, very fruity, dark berries and mango, with notes caramel, herbal hops and roasted malts. medium-bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle. Red chestnut, lively carbonation, big creamy and lacing golden head. Dark sugary entrance, caramel, peppery spicyness, minerally, very light stickyness. Medium body. Easy to drink despite the roasted characteristica.

Draught at the brewpub. Almost clear nut brown colour. Big stable rocky tan head. The flavour starts off quite sweet, turns slightly spicy. Has a hint of stable or old hay which gives it character. A little brown sugar as well.

Swing-top bottle. Sweet buttery toffee malt aroma. Clear amber color with large off-white head. Sweet butterscotch/toffee malt with mild bitter finish. Nice smooth beer - a bit light.

TimE (3143) - Tokyo, JAPAN - OCT 26, 2009
Deep nose of chestnuts and cherries with just a faint hint of dicytle and faintly fruity. The mouth is much hoppier than the nose suggests. Moderate hoppy start with bitterness hitting everywhere and dominates the palate. Dicytles more present, but not overwhelming. Moderate bitter finish. Interesting.

Ceramic mug. Chestnut colour. Vollkorn aroma with some metallic notes. Very bready character but again with a coppery metallic note. Finishes somewhat sweet, following through on the earlier breadcrust.
