From bottle at the Pembury Tavern, Hackney, 31 July 2009. Very sweet and a bit sticky. Meads are not really my thing. Especially the very sweet ones. And the sweeter they are, the less they are my thing. But, making allowances for that, this was not unpleasant.

Bottle 75cl.
Clear light to medium yellow orange color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate honey, heather honey, star anis notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is flat. [20090731]

Bottled@The Pembury Tavern. Pale yellow colour, no head. Stinging sweet honey and alcohol mixed with quite much wood. Flavour is sweet honey along with wood and some spices. Semisweet aftertaste along with some dry wooden notes.
