Pour is fairly impressive - black, with a frothy, lasting lace - these beers are so easy to screw up, often coming across as messy, overly hopped stouts - this one gets it right - starts off creamy and slightly sweet, a bit like a stout, with minimal hop presence - starts to dry out through the middle, as some bitterness from the black malt settles in, but still, the hops are a bit subdued - they don’t really shine until the finish, as the beer becomes quite dry, but when they kick in they shine very well - juicy, resinous, lingering long into the finish - I could drink pint after pint of this if it weren’t so strong.
