Kevin (1765), Colorado, USA Oct 1, 2007 cask at the brewery.
as i’ve been told, i have a man crush on this brewery. if they keep making things like this my feelings may escalate to the point where they may need a restraining order. nice dark brown body with a fat overcarbonated head. malt nose some chalky slightly nutty chocolate scents. taste, powdery cocoa, chocolate candy goodness and a bit of honey. there is something like peanut butter here maybe(i’ve been tasting peanut butter everywhere for some reason, it may be a brain tumor) very quenching, i’d just finished another gruelling day off consisiting of waking up showering and taking the rail and light rail to auarora with a fun side trip to make bankers uncomfortable and i needed something to drink, and this did the trick one of those that i can be satisfied with one, but damnit it tastes good so have another, well shit the conversation is good, have another, i’m writing with a lot of commas, have another. only 3.2 so i can have a few. a damn fine session beer, and if you can get it on cask do so. i would have drunk nothing but this except the old ale called my name& i had to answer. i think what little hop flavor is more along the lines of earthy/floral, but i wasn’t that worried about it to really think on it while i was drinking. we need more good milds.
