COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Doug Hyndmanís latest and greatest hoppy war hammer of an IPA. Five types of hops, five pounds in the dry hop - thereís a theme here. Chinook, CTZ, Centennial, Galena and Amarillo join forces, devastating your palate with their bitter deliciousness. Pungent. Clean. Unforgiving. Wonderful!

Can. Pours a murky orange copper with thin, light khaki head. Decent retention and some thin rings of lacing. Aroma is hoppy, resinous, floral, bitter, oily, mild citrus. Flavor is mildly hoppy, bitter, with citrus, juicy hops tones. Not as bitter as I had expected given the aroma, quite drinkable. Light to moderate carbonation, medium body, somewhat juicy, with a mildly crisp finish. A juicy, mild IPA.

One of the best ipas I've had. Cool little strip mall in the middle of nowhere, Colorado making some great beer. This beer is thick, rich, hoppy, and smooth. A must-try. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Type: 12-oz. can Glass: Hotel glass (half pint, half snifter) From: Wilburís Total Beverage in Fort Collins, Colo. Price: Part of a variety 6-pack for $9.99 Purchased: May 2, 2013 Consumed: May 2, 2013 Misc.: N/A Poured a caramel hazy color with two fingers of gray bubbly head. Average lacing on the side, a bit disappointing actually. Average retention on the way down as well. Smelled tons of hops up front. Grapefruit dominates here, but floral hops come in to mix it up. Also some orange rind, tropical notes and some spices. All leaves a lasting dry bitter finish. Taste didnít quite live up to the smell. Got grapefruit, but not the best grapefruit Iíve ever tasted. Very dry hops. Still orange rind. Tropical hops are still noticeable, while the floral hops become less powerful. Still very bitter, although it comes in rather late. Those are still pronounced as well, but I couldnít put my finger on them. Some buttery notes as well. Light body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Refreshing, slightly bitter finish. Soft carbonation. Long, bitter, watery finish. I had higher expectations for this beer. The smell was the best part by far, the rest was just above average.

Hazy orange pour witha a tight, lacing head. Fruity (pineapple and grapefruit) and piney/resiny aromas. Slight malt sweetness finishes with a bitter grapefruit quality. Godd, medium body and similar carbonation.

Pours hazy orange with white head and no lacing. Aroma of pine hops and woodiness. Smells like a forest. Wait....it tastes like a pine forest too, with a touch of citrus hops. Very nice, but Iíll stop after one...to preserve my taste buds.

Can. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (apricot, resin, grapefruit/kumquat), with light notes of mango, sour/decaying vegetable matter (onion, celery), butter. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Odd name for this one...itís more of a malt onslaught than anything, at least in the mouth (the nose is certainly very fruity-hoppy). Very sugary-syrupy sweet. Some off notes in the nose hurt the aroma score. More apparent alcohol than expected...tastes closer to 8%. Comes off more like an American Strong than an IPA.
