3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy pour with good frothy head. Aromas of pumpkin pie spice nutmeg and ginger. Palate is medium bodied, with no tannic flavors from the pumpkin which is good. Most pumpkin beers are over spices and slightly acidic because of this. This one however breaks the mold and stands out above most of them

From the bottle the color is Amber and cloudy, the aroma is spices, sweetness, pumpkin. The taste is nutmeg cinnamon and cloves, reminiscent of a dark unsweetened pumpkin pie. The balance of sweetened pumpkin to spice is good, stronger notes of spice to pumkin.

A little late on this brew, but call it extra aging for extra effect. Dry Dock’s heavy addition to the pumpkin game comes with all the spooky icons - Mr. Skel, Jack-O-Lanterns, ominous starry night, and a pirate flair. The beer is a semi^clear pumpkin range, with a head almost too shy to emerge. Perfumed, vegetable and herbaceous, all at once, Dry Dock’s vegetable beer is powerful on the nose. Lots of brown sugar, baked butternut squash, pumpkin flesh and a bit of caramel. The flavor is less assertive, with both a thinner palate, and a less assertive flavor. The alcohol, wisely, acts as support for the delivered flavors, most of them a slightly weak spice concoction: clove, brown sugar, all-spice, rock candy, and caramel. I was expecting something much beefier, but I actually appreciate the modesty of the flavor profile. Maybe that’s a result of letting this simmer for a year, but the balance it instills makes this an excellent pumpkin beer. A shame Iame to it late, but we still eat pumpkin pie around Christmas, right?

Draft at the North brewery. Pours hazy copper with a fizzy beige head and decent lacing. Tastes like pumpkin pie, cloves, roasted pumpkin, dry spice, roasted malt, and a hint of orange. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like pumpkin pie cinnamon, roasted malt, and light booze.

Bomber. Lots of spices in this one. I get the usual pumpkin pie line-up of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and cloves both in the nose and in the taste. The spices really were overpowering. Not really a fan of this sort.

From a 22oz bottle into a Deschutes tulip glass. Pours light brown with small head and lace. Aroma of a spicy pumpkin pie. Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of rich malts, grains, cinnamon, clove, brown sugar, slight white pepper. Overall refreshing, nicely spiced and tasty.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Poured clear, fiery orange with a short-lived white head. The aroma picked up meaty pumpkin and a bit of graham cracker with accents of cinnamon, cloves, and just a hint of dried chiles. The flavor found pumpkin meat and a bit of caramel at the core with allspice, cloves, and cinnamon laced throughout.. no rough alcohol.. very tasty! Medium-bodied with low-moderate carbonation.. good mouthfeel.. nice one!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 oz bomber from Biggie Wine & Liquor, poured into my Funkwerks goblet. Deep copper and light hazy appearance with a small, light tan head. Aroma of roasted pumpkins, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, vanilla, light ginger and light caramel malts. Similar flavor, heavily spiced with mild sweetness and light bitterness. Medium body, smooth and creamy with mild carbonation and a lingering spiced finish. Overall, it’s over spiced and a kind of hard to drink. A good bottle to share, I think 22 oz was too much for me.
