3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared at Samís, Durham, at an event sometime in September. Thanks to whoever cracked this! Cloudy deep orange pour, with a substantial sticky head and a big piney nose. Initial impression was that this is a solid, by-the-numbers DIPA. I was impressed by the relatively restrained malt that provided some balance to the otherwise intense grapefruit and pine flavor profile. But it was nothing particularly memorable.

On tap at Falling Rock. A pale DIPA, golden-yellow and fairly hazy with a fingerís width of white head. Citric and herbal aroma with some lemony notes and even a bit of yeast, with sweet malt. Sweet pale malt base on the flavor, maybe even some wheat, with light fruit, tangerine, lemon, and resin. Not as hoppy as it probably should be, but not bad. Medium-plus bodied with some hop oils and medium-plus carbonation. Not too shabby overall, but Iíve had far better in this style.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a blonde hue with a light white head with Aromas of skunks, limberger cheese, and not much else goodness. The flavor is on the sweeter side with a nice bitter finish. A little creamy and a little scary.

had from cask into pint at backcountry tap house and pizza in Boulder, CO. Looks of light red and gold. Rather clear and egg shell 1 finger head. Smells of grapefruit and round bodied plesantly lasting hop complexity. very drinkable. great lacing. overall 8.5 of 10.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle purchased from Coaltrain in Colorado Springs with no mention of Seven Seas on the bottle. According to the employee they pick up the beers directly from Dry Dock. This is a very fresh bottle, with a nice hazy dark golden pour and a small fluffy white head. Nose is light and aromatic and doesnít have that "IIPA" aroma. Taste is refreshing with the hops more aromatic than tasty (if that makes sense). Medium fluffy body. The alcohol is sedated for a 9% beer. As mentioned in the previous ratings, this a sort of a cross between an IPA and Double IPA. Very good nonetheless.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
More like an IPA than a double IPA to me. Pours golden, with medium white head. Aroma is very hoppy, citrus, grapefruit and pine. Taste is very fresh, again with citrus and hops but also a touch of sweet malt. Finish is pleasantly bitter but I would have wanted a bit more. Body is a bit light for the ABV and style, again more like an IPA. Still, a very enjoyable beer.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium amber.
Aroma is lightly malty (caramel), moderately hoppy (resin), lightly yeasty (dough, sweat), with light notes of honey and bug spray.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Rather one-dimensional raw/resinous hop note, and some fusel alcohol make the aroma less enticing than hoped. Rather tart with a somewhat unpleasant aftertaste. Not undrinkable, but poor.

Bottle, sampled at Peteís house. Lots of pine & grapefruit here, some nice cotton candy & caramel malt. Solid and hides the alcohol really well.
