Had their popular DIPA on tap at the brewpub. Somewhat hyped hop bomb. More malts are needed to balance this, its just OK. A bit of lighter mouthfeel for the style. Yellow and lacey. Great aroma and still good drinkability.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (caramel), moderately hoppy (resin), lightly yeasty (dough, sweat), with light notes of honey and bug spray. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Rather one-dimensional raw/resinous hop note, and some fusel alcohol make the aroma less enticing than hoped. Rather tart with a somewhat unpleasant aftertaste. Not undrinkable, but poor.

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2010 Growler courtesy of a traveling beer club member. The beer is a hazy orange-amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Thin rings of lacing. Citrusy hops aroma with some pine and malt notes. Medium body with flavors of grapefruity hops, caramel, earthy malt, and pine. The finish is hoppy with a lingering citrus aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
