Draft (many) @ Rackhouse. Nose is just sticky, spicy, floral hops. Awesome nose. Flavor is surprisingly a little subdued compared to the nose, an upfront blast of florals and then a slight fruitiness before a total bash of bitterness. Little sweet/malt to back this up, so it’s generally just hop juice (albeit very, very tasty hop juice). If you’re in a hop-jones mood, this is great, if you’re looking for a complex, balanced IIPA, look elsewhere. That being said, it’s still delicious.

Pale amber in color surprised me that it was lighter than the regular IPA. Good hop aroma and tasty malt flavors. Body was light/medium. Finish was dry and lingering bitterness would not fade.

Tap at Dry Dock, into a shaker pint. The info sheet at the brewery says glowing marigold with an antique white head. I’ll add that it’s hazy, probably unfiltered, and the head sticks in thick horizontal sheets. Lots of orange, a touch of vanilla, nice tropical notes, mango and pineapple in the nose. Mango sorbet. More grassy and resinous flavor, a little dank, nicely tropical again, mango nice with grapefruit. Resin lingers on the tongue.

Dry Dock is one of Colorado’s many truly excellent craft breweries. This is my favorite brew by these guys. Long before they were a micro brew pub I shopped with these guys for my home brew supplies. This Double IPA is delicious, has a nice hop nose and is neither uber malty nor too hoppy. Just the right balance. Much less powerful on the palate than Titan or some over the top IPAs. I can have a couple more of these tonite for sure!

22oz Bomber brought back from my Denver trip. pours a murky drab tan/orange with barely any head. Big juicy sticky hop flavors and tropical notes. very soft carbonation. Raw soft maltiness. Not very bitter for a double.

On tap at Barrels & Bottles. Gold and clear appearance with a white head. Aroma of resinous hops, pine, grass, light herbs, biscuits and toasted grains. Similar flavor, medium to heavy bitterness balanced by light malty sweetness. Medium to full body.

Fresh bottle from Weber St. Pours a hazy gold, very thin head, but heavy lacing. Super citrusy aroma. Lemon, orange, and a hint of lime. Taste is sticky sweet citrus, like orange and lemon candies. Thick, creamy mouthfeel. Big sticky, sweet resinous finish.
