3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Pawola22 (2203) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 24, 2012
On tap at the brewery in Aurora, CO. Pours a crystal clear, golden colored body with a finger-width, creamy and frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is slightly bready malts with a light caramel sweetness along with a soft Belgian yeast. A light clove and banana as well as some faint florals. Flavor is better with a slightly sweet bready malt backing and a light caramel. A bit of coriander with some clove and smooth banana. More fruity esters than the aroma with a touch of yeasty pepper and a light bitterness that helps this dry a bit while it finishes mostly sweet. Fairly lengthy aftertaste with a light alcohol heat following a medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, not a bad tripel, but fairly straightforward and on the sweeter side. Okay.
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 adnielsen (3756) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - APR 6, 2012
Tap @ brewery. Transparent, golden appearance wit ha white head. A bit spicy, light lemon/orange, pale malty, somewhat spicy yeasty aroma. Very rich sugary flavor that’s effervescent and has a citrusy, spiciness to it. A little hard to drink as it’s a bit cloying.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Steve_0 (201) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 16, 2012
Poured a ridiculously clear straw yellow. Nice big head with great lacing. Smells of funk, banana, yeast, pepper, and phenol. Taste is peppery and sweet up front, yeasty in the middle, with a nice bitter/estery finish. Rating this as just a beer, it is alright, but it definitely does not stand up to other tripels.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Ernest (5185) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 15, 2012
Bottle.
Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is dark yellow.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of banana, candy sugar, gum, light notes of pepper and alcohol.
Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium to full body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
Smells more like a big hefeweizen than a tripel, loaded with banana. Some nice character lurks beneath that (the pepper and yeast), but this is mostly a banana-and-sugar affair. As you might guess from that nose, it’s much too sweet in the mouth. This is pretty much the usual Americanized version of this style...overly estery and sweet. I prefer a more traditional/Belgian rendition (dry, yeasty, and more phenolic than estery). That said, this certainly isn’t terrible by any means but it’s not really a tripel-head’s tripel.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 onceblind (1622) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 12, 2012
Tap @ brewery. Crystal clear light gold with a thin spotty head. Funky spicy grain aroma with tones of dusty coriander, pale grains, and a subtle yeasty spiciness. Taste was exact the same. Crisp yet medium on the palate, but with an odd combo of flavors--pale grain, funky dusty yeast, some coriander, not much else.

Growler shared with Gabe. Pours an initially fluffy, rapidly collapsing white head, with attractive lacing, over a clear, dark yellow (SRM 5) body.....nose is bubblegum/banana, with honey and floral tones....taste is quite sweet to start, with layers of honey, and additional candi sugar tones, finishing with light spice and a bit of pepper......mouth feel is light and slightly hot, carbonation is medium and adds a nice mouth feel. There is no doubt this is a Triple, but it is overly sweet, and the complex phenols and esters are not there. BJCP 5/3/12/4/6

Draft - clear golden pour - like most american-made tripels, this one is really honey sweet - a bit too much so - flavors of pear and apple - some toasted grain and spicy character, as well as a light bitterness try to balance this out, but do kind of a half-assed job - there are some decent aspects, it is just a bit cloying.
