EValP (30), Colorado, USA Nov 13, 2006 Started the night off with this porter. Impressive frothy light brown head but disappears unfortunately. Typical porter dark brown body color. Turning to the smell, moderate cookie and milk chocolate aroma with heavy vanilla and cocoa.

This beer smells good and tastes just as good. Initially moderate sweet and light bitter flavor is shrouded in an exciting vanilla taste followed closely by the cocoa. Sweetness tapers off as bitterness increases around the swelling cocoa flavor lasting long on my palate with a medium body. Trivial oily texture with a bit of alcohol lingering as well. This is a great porter and complimented with the vanilla. Maybe a bit strong as first but I will agree with Jason, this is almost a desert in-and-of itself. Cheers to the Kevin’s!
tilldeath (34), Arvada, Colorado, USA Oct 28, 2008 One word Awesome! having had this at the GABF 08, I wasn’t expecting much because I really hadn’t heard of the brewery, but wow was I suprised. If you’re looking for a vanilla porter this is #1. Seriously if they end up bottling this it will be in my top 10 for sure. If you can fins someone to trade for this do it you won’t regret it. waolsen (1047), Littleton, Colorado, USA Oct 22, 2008 tap at brewery. dark pour. thin head. big vanilla aroma. nice full body. vanila oak dominate over a nice porter. very nice. agillespie81 (110), Denver, Colorado, USA Mar 4, 2008 Black in color......opaque. Very thick, creamy head. Sweet vanilla aroma. Very sweet, somewhat creamy taste up front. Smooth mouthfeel, with just a hint of crispness. Finishes with a strong vanilla flavor, and a bit of maltiness. GeneralGao (2626), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Sep 8, 2007 Draft, Brew at the Zoo Benefit in Denver. Poured a dark brown color, nearly opaque. Head was thick, tan, and dissipated over a minute or two to a thin film. Aroma was of cocoa, vanilla, and an occasional whiff of cola. Slightly sweet on the tongue, but also very roasty. The vanilla is tangible, but relatively subdued. There is also a fair amount of cocoa flavor. Pretty good. ratman197 (2476), Arvada, Colorado, USA May 9, 2007 On tap @ Dry Dock poured a translucent brownish black with a minimal amber head. Aromas of vanilla, coffee and a hint of chocolate. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of vanilla, milk chocolate and a hint of roastiness with a smooth semi-sweet finish.
