COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We will never surrender! Single hop IPA utilizing the lemony/coconutty goodness of the Sorachi Ace hop. A nice malt backbone compliments the style nicely; up the irons!

Draft pour on tap at the brewpub (Chicago, IL). Pours a nice darker amber orange hue, firmer haze, darker body with some good haziness. Some orange sunset edges and bottom. Frothy offwhite head atop stays as a firm filmy layer, laces ok but sticks around well. Aromas offer touches of spritzy lemon, florals, grass, bread, and some doughy sweetness. Touch of toastiness and spice. A bit bland on the nose for an IPA, not even that assertive near offensive feel I get with Sorachi. Faint kiss of soap. Initial is medium bodied, decent Sorachi element gives lemon, dank grassy and earthy feel is melon. Kiss of coconut, bready malts, florals, and a bit of biscuit. The hops don’t pop or lead this one. A bit more fuzzy and hoppy as we move on, but not much. Lemon, grass, fuzziness and spicy earthy element I get with this hop. It’s not malty, but the hops are lower in intensity, forcing malt body and earthy elements through, not sweet though. Backend picks up more bitterness, Sorachi and lemon, grass, and dry florals, weeds and pollen like fuzziness. Finish is decent bitterness holding on, Sorachi elements are decent but could be a bit more intense. This is certainly a quite drinkable beer but lacks pizzaz or pop. A solid drinker, nicer actual sustaining bitterness than Zombies, but overall, just a bit overwhelming in hop intensity. I think I’ve noticed that theme here so far. Ok. Nose could really use some pop. Beer itself is a solid single hop IPA that just seems a little underdone. Very drinkable though.
