3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Full flight pour on tap at the brewpub (Chicago, IL). Pours a deeper orange amber hue. Nice mellow haze and glow throughout. Frothy white bright white head quickly dies to a rind, laces small .Aromas are a reeally nice fruity poke of Zythos, mango and tropical fruit meet firm melon, some citrus rind, florals, and fruit. Touches of bread, soap, some bubblegum. Rich, aromatic, a touch sweet but I’m ok with it so far. Initial is lighter end of the fold, good solid dose of bitter hops, florals, rind, and a bit resiny. Nice smack up front. Middle is a touch more mellow, more fruit enters a lot more citrus rind as that and bitterness takes over. Less sweet than the nose let on. Backend is dry, a bit bready and grainy. Clean and bitter finish, lughter body. Nose was lush and aromatic, a lot of fruit, but didn’t deliver the unwanted sweetness in the beer itself. Favorite DryHop beer to date. Nice work, guys.
