Follow the rabbit to Wonderland with a Belgian Wit. Coriander and orange blossom abound in this classic summer quencher.

Not my favorite style. Definitely a refreshing beer though, lots of spice notes.

Draft pour on tap at the brewpub (Chicago, IL). Pours a rich hazy straw yellow pour, good thicker haziness, lively dulled straw and lemon glow. A frothy offwhite head atop stays as a good filmy layer, laces ok and sticks around. Nice. Aromas offer lemon and flaked wheat, bready malt, touch of dough, gentle yeastiness and orange peel. Touches of florals, gentle fruity ester and some straw. Cleaner, less fruity one with less emphasis on orange but also not an offensive overdone coriander addition. Initial is lighter end of the fold, touch of girth in the middle but quite drinkable. Throwing some decent orange and lemony elements that the nose didn’t show. Bready, dry, a touch of spice. Gentle florals, orange fruit and rind. Middle is a touch grainy, floral, and a gentle fruity sweetness, mellow ester, dough, and crackers. Some straw, grass, and gentle bitterness, a bit pithy. Mellow coriander and gentle spiciness in the middle and backend is pleasant, not overdone. A bit tart at times, orange elements play well, floral and fruity, with a more bready, grainy finish, gentle bitterness and a bit of cool lingering coriander, flaked wheat, and gentle orange and rind element. Pretty well put together. Again, I find myself wanting a little more from the nose of a DryHop beer, but if that means they just add more coriander, I’d rather have this. Pretty nice Wit here.
