Fine head & white lace; hazy yellow-greenish beer. Coriander!!!... fake lemon, ureum. Coriander!! and a bit of malt/wheatsugars. Citrussy, lame. Spritzy, empty, light; Oh dear. Calling this atrocity saison is a crime.

Bottle: Slightly hazed, pale golden-yellow with a thick, soft/puffy white head. Light lemon, dusty aroma. Taste is light, but fairly bright, lemon and yeast. Very easy drinking......much lighter feeling than one would think... Pretty good.

Flaske 750ml - spandert av djoeye. Delt med ham og Rune. Åpner med både smell & røyk. Lys blekgul. Bra skum som flater helt ut. Tynn lacing. Søt forsiktig fruktaroma. Smaken sitrus. Dempet.

Hazy pale gold pour with a tall, fluffy eggshell head. Aroma is wheat, lots of sweet and tart tree and stone fruit notes, some tart berry, lemon and some spicy and floral hops. Flavor is wheat and breadiness up front, some floral and berry sweetness, cereal, spicy and floral hops. Medium body, creamy entry, chalky middle and finish with a medium, slightly sharp carbonation. Pretty good overall, the fruity notes almost seem artificial.

Taste; fruity fizzy juicy wheat malts, other fruits, sweet perfume – fruity wheaty finish. Juicy fizzy on palate. Just alright. 330ml bottle [a Bartlebierian doubling, thank you nonetheless!]. Cloudy, yellow-ish golden colour with huge, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish fruity, yeasty aroma, notes of apricot and peach, (yellow) apple purée, cautious peppery spicy, minimally herbal, yeasty overtones, a touch of laurel. Taste is initially minimally sweet pale and wheat malty, yeasty fruity, notes of apricot and peach, shifts to a minimally strawy middle part, with slightly dry, grassy herbal and minimally peppery spicy, yeasty influences; reinforced sweetness in the finish. Minimally anaemic, basic Saison without extra special gimmick.

Bottle. Musty paper, lemon malt, and straw aroma. Slightly hazy pale yellow with moderate head. Sweet lemon malt, musty yeast, and straw flavor. Body on the light side.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2015 75cl bottle from SB. Thick hazy (when poured with sediment) deep yellow/orange with a big thick off white head. Floral and spicy citrus aroma with grapefruit, tulips, pineapple, yellow apples, green banana, white pepper and yeasty wheat. Taste is slightly sweet with oranges, grapefruit, bananapeel and wheat with some yeast and dry spice. Banana peel bitterness in the finish. Started out a bit spiky peppery and bitter, but when poured with more sediment it got more smooth and fruity. My tip is to give the bottle a swirl to shake up the sediment before serving.

Maker: Brasserie Du Bocq, Punode-Yvoir, Belgium *** Beer: Du Bocq Saison 1858 (bottled, unfiltered 330ml) *** Style: Saison *** ALC.VOL.: 6.4% *** Colour: Hazy pale yellow with a big, white, fluffy head. *** Nose: Lemon, yeast, hints of spices. *** Texture: Light body, still watery. Modest carbonation. *** Taste: Dry at first. Lemon, hops, yeast, spices. Still dry, and now a bit sour, too - in the middle. Increasingly yeasty towards the finish, very lemony still, with spices and hints of resin. More bitter than before. Lemony and yeasty aftertaste. *** Impressions: A bit too lightweight for my taste, also not too much depth of flavour. Plesantly lemony, and some nice hints of spices (coriander).
