2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Rastacouere (5923) - Montréal, - JAN 25, 2009
1cm white head over a faded effervescent dark gold. Again, this is another one which could be a bit less yeasty. The breadiness quite dominates despite the fun grainy malts. As a result, I find here again the vegetal undertones I dislike in some of their beers. Also, the impression of freshness which is the greatness of golden ales is lost amidst the yeast, which also translated into neglectable hop presence and makes for a finish that could be tighter.

Bottle. Appearance: Moderate hazy yellow with small but lasting white foam. Aroma: Belgian yeast dominates this one with, citrus, coriander among other spices and honey. Taste: A lot of yeast in this one, alcohol, some citrus peel and banana. Palate: This one feels heavy and low carbonation. Overall: Not a bad beer but not that good either. Feels more like a heavy hefeweizen than a crisp golden ale. Good pair with cheese as stated on their website

500ml bottle. Backlog time - spring of 2010 sometime. Hazy amber-gold with a large fluffy white head. Dry grainy/grassy aroma, slightly heather-sweet. The taste is quite simple, even a bit mild - grain and heather, light wheat, a bit dry to balance the sweetness. Chewy and soft on the palate, not much carbonation, quick-finishing - ehh - not bad, actually.

Pours a cloudy golden color with a thin white head. Average aroma of malt, mild hops and sweetness. The flavor also has malt, mild hops and sweetness, but there’s a weird and rather unpleasant element in there. The body is light with an oily texture and gentle carbonation.
