4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ComradeK (530) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - DEC 23, 2010
500ml bottle. Pours a clear light gold, with a wispy, fading, cider head. The aroma is mainly appetising sweet apple, with some cane sugar, and is typically Normandy. Delightfully sweet and fruity to begin, with a well-rounded finish and just a hint of alcohol, yet restrained and crisp on the palate throughout, this is a fine example of the Normandy style.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 KyotoLefty (3760) - Kyoto, JAPAN - OCT 19, 2010
500 ml bottle, 2006 vintage. Rich aroma of caramel apples, apple pie, cinnamon. Medium to deep gold color with lace. Flavor of caramel with a burnt edge, a bit of dusty funk, some metal. Very sweet for a cider labeled “dry.” Slightly aged taste. Very rich. Interesting and somewhat complex, though a bit too sweet and desert-like. Good, but way too expensive.

Aroma of lightly tart apples and peel. Flavor is more sweet than tart but is similar to the aroma otherwise. An OK cider, but not something I would buy again.
