Bottled, 500ml *** Colour: Deep clear amber; big, creamy off-white head. *** Nose: Biscuit caramel, orange peel. Floral hops. *** Mouthfeel: Medium body, hardly watery. Soft carbonation. *** Taste: Musty orange, biscuity malts, dry floral hops ast the start. Maltier still in the middle, mixed with generic hop bitterness. More explicitly bitter and dry in the finish, medium-long malty aftertaste with a mild lemon note. *** Impressions: This certainly isn’t an IPA,. but a premium bitter. As such, it’s not bad, especially the strong finish impresses. A little lacking in body and depth though. Decent ESB, rather generic.

A beer that doesn’t seem to know what it is! A malty aroma, and the sweet caramel malt taste of an ESB, but doesn’t have the complexity of a good one. The finish is lightly hopped, with a slight bubblegum twang at the end .

500ml brown bottle, filtered, from Waitrose. A reasonably pleasant and slightly demerera sweet premium bitter. The hops are quite subdued, mainly coming through late in the finish as a mild nettle flavour and tingle. It is mainly the malt that is noticed. Feels lower than 5.2%. I wouldn’t kick it out of bed.

500ml Flasche. Klar und dunkelgolden. Minimale Schaumkrone. Leicht muffig. Wenig aromatisch. Leichter Körper. Dezente Bitternoten.

As Waitrose Organic India Pale Ale. Pours clear orange. Nose is malts, citrus, sweetish biscuit fruits, a bit cheap smell. And so is taste. Sweetish grainy malts, only subtle hops, not pleasant dusty, grassy, light fruits.

Orange colour with gentle carbonation. Aroma of English hops and a taste of bitter oranges and new-mown hay. Distinctive fruity hop taste. A very nice English IPA.

Flaskenfra Waitrose, Finchley, delt med Steven: klar dypmgylden med fint skum. Typisk engelsk aroma og smak preget av bitter (engelsk) appelsinmarmelade og litt gress. Balansert og lettdrikkelig.

Aroma-Pear, Some citrus, perhaps orange peel, sweet and a little subtle Appearance-Deep Golden, Orange, thin white head which stays, albeit very low Taste-Spicy dryness, some fruit and citrus, but difficult to pinpoint which fruit! For 5.2% it was quite boozy as well. Finises dry and bitter Palate-Laps over tongue nicely. None too fizzy or flat, good balance. Bitter finish Overall-Decent English style pale ale. Would’ve hoped for better hop presence in the taste but still a decent supermarket brew!

Bottle. High fluffy lasting white head. Clear amber body. Mild and sweet apple pear bisquit caramel aroma. Mild and sweet smooth fruit caramel straw flavor with a bit of hops bitterness, low carbonation and a short dusty finish.
