2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Amber pour with little head. Hay and cereal in the scent. Odd taste. Yeasty. Bready. A touch herby. Overall unbalanced, at least to me. Not a big fan of the flavour mix. Cant point out exactly whats wrong, but its just not quite right. Wont be buying this again.

Bottle. Bronzey brown beer with a strong head. The aroma is toffee and bitter, and the flavour is strongly bitter, roasted and toffee. Overall a nice strongly flavoured bitter and roasted beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml brown bottle. Orange gold in colour. Light haze. Medium sized white cap with tiny bubbles. Good spotty lace clings to the glass. Smell is malty, grainy, slightly dusty, almost wheaty. Flavour is light caramel up front. Grainy malt, some nutty notes, a bit of a metallic bite through the finish, lemony hops. Light bitter aftertaste, lots of grainy malt dryness. Medium carbonation, light bodied. Decent.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared with Lyoli. Pours a clear, goldenish color with a foamy head. Aroma holds malt, some light fruit, perhaps citrus, some tartness. Flavor isn’t bad, some caramel and sugar, mild, leafy hops. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Pretty basic finish, a bit dry, some malty sweetness. Nothing wrong here.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
500ml bottle. Pours a hazy mid-amber - to call it "ruby" is stretching it - with a large, pillowy off-white head. This does fade disappointingly quickly, but it leaves good lacing. The aroma has an intriguing sweet-savoury balance, with notes of sourdough, whipped cream and a hint of tea. The initial taste has some sweet citrus hops in there, as well as a slight hint of fruitcake. This moves into a fuller, fruitier mid-section, with burnt caramel malt and some whipped cream. The finish has an excellent hoppy bite to it, mixing pine and lemon flavour notes. This is another fine effort from His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, a delightful bitter which would be excellent at any time of the year, with or without a meal. Without the merest hint of doubt the best organic beer I’ve tasted, and one of my favourite beers full stop.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bouteille 500ml.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle (500ml) with expiry Aug 2011. A clear amber beer with a medium-sized white head of good duration and chunky lacing. Rich butterscotch malts on the nose with an orangey hop presence. Palate is smooth and easily drinkable with a low carbonation and a moderate bitter hop finish. Nice.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Appearance: Golden reddish brown, lots of carbonation. Small, frothy head. Aroma: Hoppy, hints of hay, hints of caramel, kind of skunky. Palate is extremely fizzy, slightly thicker than I would expect from looking at it, bitter finish. Taste is quite bitter, but also quite sweet. One of my few forays into English beers and I can’t say that this is one I will buy again, but it’s not bad.
