A deliciously robust, rich blend of hops and malt, including an English barley first used in 1905 called Plumage Archer. This traditional ale is lovingly brewed using barley from selected organic farms, including Duchy Home Farm at Highgrove.

Mild, subtle bitterness/maltiness, nice enough but a bit too bland for me. Wouldn’t recommend it.

500ml bottle. Well, the appearance is definitely ruby. Small tanned head too. Aroma is not too exciting, just hoppy and not much else. Tastes ok but ultimately just a standard bitter.

Une couleur ruby avec peu de mousse. Nez de malt un peu sucré. Le goût est de malt avec un peu de sucre. Il y a peut-être un goût légère d’agrumes a la finale. Je l’ai trouvé bonne mais aqueux.

For some reason I thought it would be better, was it the Waitrose label? Maybe. The price I paid for it? Maybe that too. Pours light brown, aroma of malt, hint of coffee. Starts out ok, but becomes a bit too watery....somehow. Refreshing I guess, I would drink it again on a hot summers day....

Smell of hops and a touch of sweetness. Pours clear yellow-brown. Imagine you had a delicious, flavourful beer. Then imagine you evaporated this beer, leaving all the good stuff behind. Now, imagine the vapor was condensed. That’s this beer.

Light citrus and malt aroma, easy on the palate not too strong in bitterness or sweetness, a light tasting and feeling

Aroma: Slightly hoppy with orange notes, caramel and licorice. Appearance: Orange copper, very clear, fast diminishing rocky head with no structure. Taste: Attack is smooth and tasteless. Slightly acid with tiny caramel notes. Pretty refreshing and light but no accent is sticking out. A thirst quencher with no characteristic of a good beer. Just drinkable, no taste but no default.

from bottle. pours a light, amber color with a very thin white head and lots of carbonation. slight aroma of prunes. minimal hop bitterness. taste of nuts and some roasted toffee. body is extremely light. not what I expected at all. very drinkable beer, but not that impressive as an example of the style.

Mild and a bit more watery than anticipated. A tad too malty for my taste.

I had this on Christmas day to go with my organic lunch. Fairly bland with not much going for it other than it being organic. Some fruit, some caramel & some hops. I didn’t finish it, not that it was awful, I just wanted something more on this special day. I have a growing number of average beers from Wychwood/Marstons at the back of my cupboard waiting to be drunk when I’ve run out of Fuller’s etc.
