2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from LCBO. Amber pour with a fast-fading head. The aroma is quite sweet with a little bit of caramel and some sweet crystal malt. Fruity esters with a touch of lingering sweetness. Has a very sweet candyish aroma and flavour. Meh - can’t say I’m a fan of this one.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle at Pat’s birthday tasting at Chriso’s. Clear reddish brown, white head. Nose is malty, caramel, touch roasted and bit of yeast. Taste is light, watery ale and bit of caramel and fruity hop. To thin mouthfeel.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bouteille de 500ml. (Merci Vincent) LCBO.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tart aroma of caramel malt, brown sugar and grapes. The taste is a bit thin but somewhat special given that this is a bitter, it is more hop aromatic, dry and rather rough and with flavors of brown sugar and caramel malt.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line :
Delicate oranges, biscuity tea leaves and caramel meld in this softly effervescent and mineral ESB.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A sheet of foam covers the dark amber.
-The flavor profile is balanced from aroma to finish.
-This might feel like a generic Extra Special Bitter, but it is still competently executed and quite pleasant to drink.
-Drinkability is quite high.
-Berry-like fruitiness appears within the caramel malt and fruity hop union.
-Even though this brew seems to pride itself in its local barley selection, it didn’t have a distinctive feature to make it stand out in its own category...

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, LCBO. Dark orange, small white (orange tinted) head. Taste is pretty standard UK pasteurized bitter - fruity, tea like hops. Taste has a bt ore hops than average - quite light and fruity with a more sweet full body coming in at the finish. Better up front, a little old and same old sweet and slightly bitter in the finish. Not a bad beer really, glad I tried it.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A hazed orange amber ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet treacle caramel with light iron notes. In mouth, a sweet roasted malt, lightly nutty, faint herbal hops, light coffee, medium bodied. Not bad. Bottle from LCBO, BB 31-08-11.

2.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from waitrose, 16th September 2011. Smells like a normal bitter, taste is fine, nothing special, slight lingering sweet taste. Would not rush back for another bottle

Quite enjoying this one at the moment, though mind you it isn’t the most amazing brew in any particular aspect. A nice touch of bitterness. 500ml bottle in Toronto On second thought, I can actually detect the oak - tastes like a touch of whiskey almost
