ilovedarkbeer (683), Dallas, Texas, USA May 4, 2008 Hazy orange color with a small to medium sized foamy off white colored head. Nose is caramel, alcohol, sugar, muted hops, and malt. Is is acidic with notes of grass and a bit of caramel. Decent bitter finish that is mild and somewhat floral. Not much to say.
cellar (125), Dublin, Ireland Jul 1, 2008 thx 4 great tasting Kimjohansen, formely known as Beljohansen :-) light amber, no head, malty frutity aroma. Sweet JohnnyOS (610), Golden, Wisconsin, USA Jun 28, 2008 Pours cloudy dark with thin off white head. Floral hop and malt aroma with a crisp hop and caramel flavor. Lubiere (3123), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jun 24, 2008 A hazy dark amber ale with a thin off white head. Light herbal hops and malt in aroma, faint. In mouth, good crisp ale with good resinous hops, light caramel, and light mineral notes, herbaceous qualities. Nice ale. Bought at LCBO. BB 5/12/08. LilBeerDoctor (239), East Setauket, New York, USA Jun 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours an orange/brown, just a small ring of white head. Aroma of honey, pear, raisin, and apple juice. Flavor of wheat, lots of apple, tartness. Sweet, light body, very simple and mellow. This beer is subtle, not in your face with flavor, which is why I liked it a lot. Tasty and light. Delicious. fredandboboflo (260), East Setauket, New York, USA Jun 23, 2008 Bottle. Nice aroma of honey, raisin, sweet caramel malt. Flavor not as rich, esters get lost in the mouth, reduced to a caramel maltiness. Somewhat watery. No hops to be found, though I imagine that’s due to some time on the shelf. Getting slammed in the ratings recently...wasn’t unpleasant, just not particularly memorable.
