Huge thanks to Willems Urenkel for that bottle. Looks really good. Beer in the glass light, small head. Starts mild, modest hoppy-dry, a bit metallically. Fruity hints of lemon in the background. Finish a bit unbalanced with soapy notes. Okay.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
0,5 l bottle. Clear and amber in the glass. A lot of CO2, small short living head. A lot of Saphir for the nose. Starts smooth, roasted malt. Medium hope, I expected more. Ends with light bitterness and citrus. Interesting, but not more.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
from bottle. pours a clear amber colour with a frothy white to beige head that quickly fades away. rather weak aroma of roasted malts, nuts and toffee with just a slight citrus like hint of the saphir hops. i really expected a greater hoppy punch...however, the body is light to medium, average carbonation and kind of oily mouthfeel. nicely balanced sweetness and bitterness. flavours of roasted malts, toffee and nuts with - as in the aroma - a minimal touch of citrus. highly drinkable stuff but nothing special at all.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Leicht bitterer Antrunk mit angenehmem Hopfenaroma. Dabei etwas pappig, mild. Der Hopfen bleibt dann mild, dezent getreidig. Gut trinkbares Bier, bei dem die Brauerei wie bei all ihren Produkten im Marketing zu dick aufträgt. 10/10/9/9/9/9

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Really good presentation in bottle, but all the good finish there.
Amber/golden color with a white head. Aroma is of some cara malts with some citrus hops, but really light. Is this one dry-hopped? I wouldn’t imagine it.
Body is really watery and the flavour really ligth of some citrus hops. Almost like drinking water.
Boring and disapointing. The bad thing is that I bought two bottles...

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Since I had quite some other Duckstein beers until now and they all were not that special and great, I had quite some doubt into investing around 7 Euro for a four-pack, but..well its limited, there’s no chance in getting one bottle only and the terms "saphir hops" and "amber ale" packed me. And I must admit, that it was that delicious, that we downed two bottles in a very short time. It has got a clear amber colour with low head and medium body. Looks definately like an Ale. Nose of Vienna style beer and sour nuts. Taste of fine, fresh aromatic hops, nuts, sourness, torf, whiskey, caramel and vanilla. Very easy and nice to drink but not that refreshing because there’s almost no carbonation. Great one and now I’m really looking forward to the next edition from Duckstein.
