2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 bluevegie (2930) - Perth, - JAN 15, 2006
The second one I tried at Duckstein and while I quite liked the stout this one was pleasant enough for a warm summer afternoon. Murky yellow straw body with a disappointing head. Cloves, zest and yeast in the taste with very little else. Fairly thin, refreshing but not outstanding. I am not a big fan of wheat beers but this was okay.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Cunningham (1941) - Halden, NORWAY - OCT 27, 2011
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2012 Bottle. Hazy dark golden colour with a tan head. Wheat and banana nose. Yeasty, fruity, wheat and some banana in the flavour.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 maneliquor (1189) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 4, 2011
This one was ok. Not exceptional but it was a good beer in the blistering heat. Pretty much your stock standard wheat, super easy drinking. Was a crowd pleaser though
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DuffMan (4427) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - APR 23, 2009
Sampler tray at their new location in Margaret River region. Very hazy dark honey gold, low white head. Sweet spicy estery wheaty aroma. Flavours of vanilla, spices, mild esters. Finish is tart and firm. A terrific sunny day brew.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DerWeg (1271) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 18, 2008
A very rare bird. Refreshing and typical competent HW. Nothing super great.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 raymondwave (931) - FINLAND - JUL 28, 2007
Pours with a huge head, but almost no carbonation at all. Quite brownish, almost like a dunkelweizen? Very bananalike nose and sweet flavor. Tastes very flat actually with quite thin feel.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ALLOVATE (1711) - Butler, WA, AUSTRALIA - MAY 2, 2005
Tasted on draught at the brewery. Pours a hazy gold, with little head retention. Big fluffy white head, when poured, didn’t quite make it back to the table. Very feint orange zest and banana sweet nose, with an equally feint hint of spice. Lactic, yeasty, orange and citric sweet flavours in the mouth. Thin bodied and spritzy in carbonation. Very subdued clove-like phenols add a balance, and it finishes off quite crisp in the back, and mildly sweet. A good sessionable beer, as it is quite refreshing, but it is a little too light on in the flavour and aroma.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 OlJuntan64 (1266) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - OCT 27, 2004
Murky hazy lemon gold with smallish fine bubbled white head. Faint citric sourdough lightly spiced but no discernable fruity esters. Mild thinnish body. Light yeasty and grainy sourdough flavours typical of this style. Soft dry with a touch of sweet finish. Lacks the aroma/flavour oomph of the top Hefes but I could see it was pretty popular with the punters in the biergarten which were drinking either the pils or this one.
