Maker: Mecklenburgische Brauerei Lübz, Germany *** Beer: Duckstein Weizen Cuvée (bottled, unfiltered, 500ml) *** Style: Hefeweizen (German cloudy wheat) *** ALC.VOL.: 5.7% *** "By using the Saphir and Perle aroma hops we have created an incomparably aromatic bouquet with expressive fruit and spicy notes." [brewery note, my translation] *** Colour: Dark hazy amber, with a huge, fluffy light beige head. *** Nose: Banana, yeast, cinnamon, mild citrus. *** Texture: Medium body, hardly watery. Medium carbonation. *** Taste: Familiar banana notes with less familar spices (incl. cinnamon) at the start. Yeasty, starchy. More lemony and hoppy towards the middle, with muted spices, but banana notes remain. Finish is mild banana, yeast, citrus. After taste slightly metallic. *** Impressions: Except for the mildly unpleasant after taste (though not nearly as bad as suggested by earlier reviewers), this is a fine cloudy wheat beer with a strong ripe banana note and refreshing citrus. With its cinnamon touch it has more depth than the average wheat beer.

Pour is a dark murky brownish with a large tan head. Aroma is a decent wheat- hefe aroma. Flavor is some bubblegum with bit of dry dark bread. Finish is a bit watery but again a bit dry and bready. Not beer to look for, but not as bad as some ratings on here, but I’m sure this would be great fresh in Germany.

Bottle bought in Germany, pours amber-brown with a fluffy head and a bready, lemony and caramel nose. Sweet malty and lightly bitter palate, a little breadiness in the body, a bit cloying in the finish. Like a sweetened and wheaty version of standard Duckstein.

Dark brown color with lot of foam. Smells like a somewhat hopped dark wheat beer. The taste is weird jot well balanced, but not unpleasant. Bananas and heavy malty wheat taste. The aftertaste is not bad for Iike a second. Than it turns really bad. The beer is actually not that bad, but the aftertaste is just killing a partially interesting beer.

Hazy brown appearance with big white head. Looks like a Dunkelweizen. Sweet malts and bubblegum in the aroma. No hops really. Unpleasant. Taste is even sweeter, more weird bubblegum, a bit of banana and caramel. The aftertaste is unpleasant. Not good. Really not good.
