2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 frankenkitty (1953) - Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA - AUG 10, 2006
Mid-amber with a foamy white head that passes quickly. Aroma finds a skunk fade before light cereal malts and minerals, nothing too appealing. Flavor finds a nice balance... a malt backdrop before a steady & consistent, bitter Euro-hop finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Cornfield (5239) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - AUG 7, 2006
Didn’t realize that this was an Altbier at the time. It poured a clear amber body with a good initial head that didn’t hang around for long. It smelled of caramel with a light herbal bitterness. The malt tasted bready and sweet, the hops kicked it up half a notch, and a touch of apple was added to the blend. Very drinkable, yet unlike the other Alts that I’ve had to date.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 EithCubes (3050) - GERMANY - JUN 21, 2006
UPDATED: JUL 20, 2006 Tap in Leipzig, of all places, in Das Fass. Light copper, goldenish under such light. Lacing white-beige head. Aroma is mildly bitter and grainily matly. Taste is bitter, herby, and decently hopped. Thin, smooth with a dry finish.
Re-rate from the bottle reveals the liquid to be more of an amber, and a little caramel in the nose. A little more caramel and grain in the mouth, and the alcohol a bit more detectable. I had forgotten how dry this was. Rating stays the same, an avg Alt.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 auderale (591) - Bitburg, GERMANY - MAY 28, 2006
Amber colored pour with medium sized head. Had a fruity, malty aroma with a sweet, roasted malt finish. Not too bad at all.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 onystrom (1219) - Style King! - Skanderborg, DENMARK - MAY 23, 2006
I’m not quite sure that this is the same beer as Holstens Duckstein Copper-Gold, but okay Ratebeer makes the rules...
ABV 5.0%!
Clear light amber (coppr) color with fine head. Nothing special about this beer. Hoppy bitterness with some roasted malt.
