UPDATED: AUG 24, 2005 Bottle (500ml) Pours bright, clear, orange-copper - a peak of rocky, slightly off-white foam, left clumpy rocky lace. Nice column of tiny bubbles. Aroma of mild malt, some balancing bitter hop, root vegetable, a bit sour, with an over-wash of musty wood - nice. Taste is more hoppy than malt, but a nice balance, with the woody tone dominating - I guess it is beechwood aged; touch of orange zest. Lingers with an almost grapefruit bitterness and the pungent woodiness. Better than I was expecting.

Clear gold amber colour and no head. sweet malt aroma. swwet malt flavour with hops and a flat palate.

Bottle: Pours a copper with fizzy short lasting head. Aroma of slight hop nose with currant, cedar. Starts sharp and sour smoothing out with a smokey/ woody finish.

(on bottle) Ambergolden, with a small white head. Interesting aroma; a short burnt sent and then heavy malts. Short, sharp finish of water and bitterness.

nose is hoppy, not much there. thin bodied, found it a bit too carbonated and a bit metallic. bitter hoppy finish.

Bottle. Copper colour with a big white head. Light hoppy aroma and a bitter dry malty and hoppy taste. Medium body and a bitter finish.

Bottle. Thin bodied and watery with a strange sour hoppy thing going on. Has some caramel, but even that tastes a bit off. Drainpour.
