Tap at restaurant in Berlin. Enjoyed this beer with possibly the largest schnitzel i’ve ever come across in my life. Burnish gold/copper body, off-white foam. Aroma of toasted malts and caramel. Medium palate weight, moderate carbonation, has a bit of malt stickiness. More toasty, biscuity malt on the body, bit of sweetness upfront with some nuts and dried apricot sort of flavour. Firm bitterness lingers on the finish. Not too bad, I think Altbier is quite to my liking.

Appearance: Poured in a Memminger dark-lager glass. Coppery gold color with a diminsihing frothy off-white head and a lazy, big bubles.
Aroma: Flowery, crisp hops with a very faint, dry toasted malty background. Moderate mineral, sulphurous watery notes.
Flavor: Dry toasted malty, bready notes migrate into a harsh grassy hoppy finish with a short metallic interlude.
Mouthfeel/Palate: Easy to medium body. Agressive, overcarbonated texture with a pleasant yeasty smoothness from the background.
Overall: Not a huge disappointing, but a totally different brew that i expected. A very one-dimensional hop-oriented flavor profile with a faint traces of fruity, toasted malt attributes. An average beer in an elegant package. Almost-like a standard macro-vienna-lager.

500 ml bottle. Copper golden body with a fine white head. Aroma is malt, bread and some caramel. Flavor is quite clean malty with a hint of caramel and a light, fine bitterness. Decent but quite plain.
