3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 andershn (90) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 15, 2003
Draught, 0.3 L. Orange-brown colour topped by a thin layer of creamy foam. Pleasant aroma with strong hints of syrup and caramel. Flavour was dominated by malt and toffee with little bitterness and disappointing aftertaste, however, the mouthfeel was smooth and creamy. Nice beer but too little character.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 DenisLD (87) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 27, 2010
500ml bottle brought directly from Germany about a month before this review.
Copper coloured body, with a beige foamy head. Loads of bubbles are visible at first. The head sticks around for some time, but afterwards it disappears almost completely.
The nose is full of toasted malts, caramel, apples, and a bit of hops. Smells like a good altbier. The aroma is strong enough to be considered
The taste starts out with a slight herbal hop bite, followed by a pretty solid fruity profile (raisins, figs, and apples), complimented by caramel notes and some mild sweetness. The taste then finishes with very pronounced toasty maltness. Bready and slightly nutty. Quite bitter in the finish.
VERY carbonated at first and pretty smooth and relatively flat afterwards. Medium-bodied, though it may seem even thicker. Quite Dry. No trace of alcohol.
The drinkability is pretty high, even though this beer may seem a little hefty to some people. Goes down smoothly and can get very enjoyable.
Overall, this is a solid brew, but I enjoyed it much more on tap.

Aroma is earthy and lightly malty with moderate hoppiness. Colour is very nice: bright medium orange. Pours a large white head which is mostly diminishing and produces good lacing. Flavour is malty but is balanced by the bitterness. Medium bodied with soft to lively carbonation.

Great cooper color with a foamy white head. A sweet malty aroma. Tons of flavor as it boasts a sweet honey palate with just the right amount of tart for the finish. I like it!

Great colour, a nice copper just as advertised. When the head dies, it DIES - not even enough to ring the glass. Slight toffee taste with clean aftertaste.

Transparent deep brown with a beige head and not much lace. Aroma is a little sweet with apples and cinnamon and some wood chip tones. Moderate carbonation and light consistency. Malty, very slight smokiness, and metallic. Dry at the end with molasses note.
