500ml brown bottle. Orange beer, rocky foamy tan head composed of large bubbles. Sweet malt aroma and a light suggestion of floral hop. Intense malt flavour, slightly earthy.Dryish hops in the finish. Mild bitterness. A pleasant surprise.

Reddish colour, medium head. Nice fruity aroma, strong bitterness in taste. Some herbal notes make it quite interesting.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2006 (0.4L from Tap) Good looking copper coloring with a tan head. Carmel flavoring was very pronounced. Also an easy beer to drink. I also wouldn’t really call it an altbier.

Heavy hoppy aroma, a little bit citrus, light smell of bread, light yeast, a little bit smoke and caramel. The head is small, white and disappears fast, the colour is red. Slightly bitter flavor, long duration. Medium body with a dry texture and soft carbonation. Nice one.

Bottle. Amber colour with disappointingly short lived head. Aroma is malty-bready with some hints of smokiness, caramel, some raisins and redcurrant, plus some hops. Taste is not too intensive but very good. Caramelly maltiness that carries a subtle fruitiness, all leading to a subtly bitter finish created by the grassy hops. A session beer but quite expensive. The only disappointment is that I did not find any wood aroma that this beer prides itself of.

Amber-coloured. Easy to drink. Palm-like. Delicious after some bad german pilseners.

A fine example of alt. Grainy, complex carbohydrate/malt aroma -- dark syrup and oats. Great bottle -- shape, embossing, label, seal. Bronze-brown beer. Tartish fruit, moderately sweet, grainy. Mouth goes a little thin, but it’s got a nice oaty finish. This is a great everyday beer - lots of flavor without being too weighty. Thanks to DougShoemaker for the tip in the LCBO!

Very delicious brew from my hometown Hamburg. A perfect thirst quencher and a real beer.

A big aroma of malt followed by a bigger taste of malt. Really a nice beer. Reminds me of an English ale. Nicely carbonated and goes down well.
