2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Looks nice, smells nice... Sounds promising, since I’m a sucker for a good German hefe. I got sucker-punched by sweetness though. The banana and clove hints are overblown into a full frontal assault on the tongue, and the beer tastes like it’s trying to be candy. Not the worst hefe I’ve ever had, but definately not a German hefe.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a murky orange. Aroma is faint but of wheat and a bit of spice. Flavor is wheat, spice, a mild banana that blends with a hefty maltiness that I found set this apart from other hefes that I have had. The malt/banana blend was nice. Pretty good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy, whitish-gold in appearance. Nice banana-esther aroma. A hint of cloves and wheat. Very light-bodied and minimal carbonation. Tastes of banana and wheat. More of an American wheat than a German wheat, but nonetheless still nice example of a wheat beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pale gold, very cloudy. Lots of banana and clove in the nose. Good palate, rich and silky, very smooth. Banana flavors predominate, good spiciness.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The appearance is of apricot nectar. Loch-Ness Murky! Tiny, white, creamy head. No lacing.
The aroma is of banana and clove. Typical of the style. 'Nuff said.
The flavor is fruity and yeasty up front. Perfectly balanced with a tart hop presence on the backside.
Light-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and pillow-soft carbonation. Short, tart, dry finish. Different for a German Wheat, but very nice!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bright unfiltered yellow orange appearane. Cloves and banana, typical of the style, in the aroma. Taste was nicely balanced, although not quite as smooth as some of the more highly rated hefe's. Nice touch of spices. Very refreshing.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This beer suprised me. The first time I had tilted the mug of 13 degress, I was unsure. Then after the first one I decided to order another, then another. I found my self enjoying this beer more than I thought I would have. This beer ended up being a great tasting beer at the end of the first one. This is a great summertime beer. It is too bad that I drink them like water during the summer. The spicy banana texture is not too aggressive.
Great color as well. Great job.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUN 20, 2003 This is the June 2003 release. Very refreshing for summer time. The banana, clove, and spices dominate the aroma and flavor, but you still know this is a wheat beer. Make sense? A mostly cloudy appperance, similar to our lousy weekend weather in the Mid-Atlantic as of late. Has your basic Hefe look to it. Very smooth, nice soft carbonation, and extremeley drinkable.
